2026: Efferon at the Riga conference

On September 11, Rīgas Austrumu klīniskā universitātes slimnīca hosted a conference for World Sepsis Day, bringing together specialists from across the Baltic region. The programme covered everything from early sepsis recognition and antimicrobial therapy to pathogen identification, source control and refractory septic shock.

Efferon CTO and Co-Founder Ivan Bessonov presented “Endotoxin and Beyond: Rethinking Hemoadsorption in Sepsis,” focusing on with and the clinical evidence behind its use in sepsis and septic shock.

Thank you to Riga East University Hospital and Dr. Oļegs Šuba for the conference organization and for bringing specialists together to discuss evolving approaches to care.

Awareness Month: when becomes part of the answer

This month, leading up to (13 September), we'll share voices from clinicians on the front lines.

Dr. Rodoljub Marković, nephrologist at Clinical Hospital Centre Zemun, shares his experience treating severe sepsis cases. He talks about personalizing therapy based on what each patient needs, combining different treatment approaches rather than relying on a single protocol, and the role hemoadsorption can play when conventional treatment alone is not enough.

Efferon joins the World Sepsis Day discussion

On September 11, the Riga East University Hospital conference dedicated to World Sepsis Day will bring together specialists to discuss different aspects of sepsis care, from early recognition and pathogen identification to source control, refractory septic shock and the latest sepsis guidelines.

Ivan Bessonov, CTO and Co-Founder of Efferon, will give a talk “Endotoxin and Beyond: Rethinking Hemoadsorption in Sepsis”, looking at the role of next-generation multimodal hemoadsorption in the sepsis management.

Hemodynamic stabilization, faster resolution of septic shock, reduced inflammatory markers, shorter time on mechanical ventilation: Efferon delivers these outcomes, supporting clinical recovery when standard therapy alone isn't enough.

Efferon kaže "zdravo!" u Hrvatsku 🇭🇷

Efferon LPS is now registered for clinical use in Croatia, together with our partner Bertossi.

Croatia is not new territory for Efferon. We have already met the local intensive care community in Dubrovnik and Zagreb, presenting our technology and discussing clinical experience with next-generation multimodal hemoadsorption. Now the conversation can move from conference halls to clinical practice.

Croatia is another step in Efferon's growing presence across the Balkans and the wider Adriatic region. Looking forward to what comes next!
