A case series followed three women aged 40–42 with unexplained age-related infertility who had histories including failed IVF, miscarriages, or difficulty conceiving naturally. They received red and near-infrared photobiomodulation therapy using wavelengths between about 660 and 970 nm, applied over areas including the ovaries, uterus, lower abdomen, lower back, and cervical spine. Treatment schedules varied by patient, from once or twice weekly to every few days, depending on whether the goal was egg retrieval, embryo transfer, or natural conception.
All three women eventually had full-term pregnancies and healthy live births. Two conceived through IVF, while one 42-year-old woman conceived naturally after additional weekly light-therapy sessions and later gave birth at age 43. The researchers suggested the therapy may support fertility by improving mitochondrial energy production, blood flow, tissue repair, and inflammation control, but the study included only three women and no control group, so it cannot prove that red-light therapy caused the successful pregnancies.
