At the Threshold of Rest: for 3daysofdesign , we transformed a working parking garage in central Copenhagen into a temporary architecture for sleep. Across five intimate rooms, our handmade beds occupied a series of spaces inserted into the structure, creating a place for rest within a setting ordinarily devoted to another kind of standstill. For a few days, rest was given a temporary address in the centre of the working city.
The exhibition extended beyond the beds. Every wall panel and architectural element was handmade in RYE’s factory in Ry, creating a setting shaped by the same materials and care that define our approach to making.
Conceived and curated by with exhibition and lighting design by joanna filipowska and , the installation explored rest through a shared narrative of furniture, artworks, objects, and found pieces.
Thank you to everyone who visited, spent time with the installation, tried the beds, and shared conversations with us throughout the week.
