Why is one of our MER modules called Inspiration?
Inspiration literally means breathing in, and this module looks closely at what happens in the body when we inhale.
The diaphragm descends. The ribs expand. The thorax changes shape. The spine responds. Fascia adapts to this movement with every breath.
When mobility in the thorax, diaphragm, ribs or surrounding fascia is reduced, breathing patterns change too. Accessory muscles may take on extra work, the rib cage may move unevenly, and certain areas can stay under constant tension.
During the Inspiration module, we explore these relationships through Myofascial Energetic Release.
We work with the thorax, ribs, diaphragm and related fascial structures, while using breath to support movement and tissue response. As breathing mechanics improve, the work can reach areas that pressure alone may struggle to access.
Breath gives us information throughout a session: where movement is available, where the body is holding, and how the tissue responds as that pattern begins to change.
That relationship between breath, fascia and touch is at the heart of the Inspiration module.
