It was bought by the Karma Kagyu School in 1977. Shortly after the farm was bought, the 16th Karmapa visited the centre. On this occasion, he gave a Milarepa empowerment and performed the Black Crown Ceremony. During his stay, Karmapa had a dream that Milarepa was walking across the yard. The next day, as something very unusual, Karmapa predicted that 1000 beings would attain enlightenment on this
place. Also Karmapa told that this place should be a retreat place. In 1982, the building of the enlightenment stupa started by Tenga Rinpoche
In 1989, severeal of the great Kagyu Lamas came to the place for giving Kagyu Ngagdzo. The event went on for 21 days and 29 transmissions was given by Jamgon Kontrul Rinpoche, and the lung was given by Tenga Rinpoche. The meditation master Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche visited the Buddhist Center Lolland several times and praised it highly. In 2000, 2004 and 2009, the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, visited the centre and gave several initiations and empowerments on these occasions.
2011 Lama Ole told us to keep this place as a retreat center and a family center.
