I am dark-skinned. My skin doesn’t burn easily in the sun, and I love the way it carries the warmth of summer. ☀️🤎

But living in the U.S. has also made me more aware of my skin color. Sometimes I stand out. Sometimes I feel that I am seen—or even treated—differently because of it.

Still, I have learned to embrace what makes me different. My skin, my accent, my roots, and my story are all part of who I am. 🤎

Baby steps lead to big dreams.

We don’t have to have everything figured out. We just have to keep moving forward, one little step at a time.

La Ruta de las Iglesias is one of the most beautiful races in Quito. We ran the 10K through the city’s stunning Historic Center, passing 13 iconic churches illuminated at night. The atmosphere was unforgettable, with thousands of runners, cheering crowds, and live music along the route. One of the highlights was a popular local band performing for the runners, making the experience even more exciting.

This race is more than a competition—it’s a celebration of Quito’s history, architecture, culture, and community. If you ever have the chance to run it, don’t miss it!
