Don’t buy the most expensive red light device.
Buy the one that actually makes sense for your goal.
The red light market is full of big promises, confusing specs and massive price differences.
But when choosing a device, three things matter most:
1. Wavelengths
Look for red light around 630–660nm and near-infrared around 810–850nm.
2. Irradiance
Watts are not the same as power at the skin. Real strength is measured in mW/cm² at a real distance.
3. Testing
A good device should not just claim wavelengths and power - it should be tested.
Cells8 panels have been tested at Tallinn University of Technology, confirming that the emitted wavelengths match the correct red and near-infrared ranges used in red light therapy.
4. Format
Face and skin? A mask or small panel may be enough.
Muscle recovery and full-body use? A larger panel usually makes more sense.
More expensive doesn’t always mean better.
And the cheapest option is often too weak to do much.
Look at the specs. Look for testing. Choose based on your goal. Use it consistently.
That’s where red light therapy starts to make sense.
