AstraZeneca Egypt is proud to launch Egypt’s first of its kind Rare Disease Patient Support Groups Summit in the Middle East and Africa aimed at amplifying the voices of patients living with rare diseases in the presence of Forset Hayah Foundation. Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Health and Population, RDI, UNICEF, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, WHO, the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and a forest hayah the leading PAG for rare diseases.
Over two days the summit focuses on what matters most: equipping rare disease patient advocacy groups with the knowledge and resources to enable earlier diagnosis, timely referral and coordinated care so patients aren’t left behind. It builds on Egypt’s leadership in rare diseases and turns commitments into action that advances health equity.
Our goal is clear: empower patient support groups with the skills and voice to shape policy and improve care while bringing government, civil society, international organizations and experts around one table to drive sustained impact.
