Haven’t trained properly all summer with the kids around? Me too 😆

But I think this headbutt finally brought me to my senses 😂 Time to start all over again.

This September at SheMoves we’re going back to FOUNDATIONS.

Getting strong in the basic movement patterns.
Rebuilding core + posture.
Paying attention to technique.
Bringing cardio back without killing ourselves.
And most importantly — getting back into the habit of showing up.

I’m in. Raise your hand if starting over with me. And I’ll send the details

If that’s your goal too, let’s be friends 🙋🏼‍♀️

You guys ask my kettlebell size every day. So here’s the truth: if your kettlebell never makes you brace, it isn’t training you. I can swing 25, squat 20, press 12 and more. But don’t copy my numbers. What’s light for me might be heavy for you and vice versa - and that’s exactly the point. Strength is individual. 🙋🏼‍♀️The only rule: by your last few reps, you should be fighting to hold your form. If you’re not, it’s too light for you — whatever the number says. Hope this helps!

Pilates is amazing. But Pilates alone isn’t enough for ultimate health & strength.

Your body also needs:

* Progressive strength training → to build & preserve muscle
* Heavier loading → to maintain strong bones
* Cardio → for heart & metabolic health
* Higher-intensity work → to maintain power & VO₂ max
* Impact + speed → especially important as we age

Pilates builds incredible control, mobility, stability and body awareness.

But ultimate fitness means being able to control your body AND produce force.

Keep the Pilates. Add strength. Add cardio. Add intensity. And let me tell you it’s not as scary as it seems to you. At SheMoves club we do 7 workouts weekly: Glutes, Posture, Core & Pelvic Floor, HIIT and 2x Everyday Functional strength. Raise your hand in comments and I’ll send you a free two weeks trial!

Because most stiff, achy bodies don’t need to be put back into place. They need to regain the ability to move well, control movement and tolerate load.

Here’s why I start with mobility:

→ Stiffness is often protective. Your body may restrict movement because it doesn’t feel strong or controlled in that range.

→ Mobility isn’t just stretching. Good mobility work combines range of motion + control + strength.

→ Your joints need options. If your hips, thoracic spine or shoulders don’t move well, another area often has to compensate.

→ Temporary relief isn’t the same as fixing the cause. Passive treatment can feel great, but if you return to the same movement patterns, the problem can return.

→ Your nervous system needs practice. Regular controlled movement teaches your brain that those ranges are safe and usable.

→ Strength comes next. Once you can access a range, you want to build strength there so your body can actually own it.

That doesn’t mean chiropractors, physios or manual therapy have no place. They can absolutely be useful.

But before assuming your body needs someone to “fix” it, ask:

Can I move through the range?
Can I control it?
Am I strong there?
Stick around for some good moves to try on daily basis, or train with be at SheMoves club!

Back in 2014, I was working as a personal trainer at Gold’s Gym, and I kept wondering:

How do we actually use all this strength in real life?

Sure, getting stronger is a huge win. But I never felt like it was enough.

Real life doesn’t happen on machines.
We lift, carry, reach, twist, push, pull, get up from the floor — often in ways we didn’t plan for.

That’s why I stopped thinking only about training muscles and started thinking about training movement patterns.

Because ultimately, I want us to move through life feeling strong, capable and confident in our bodies.

That’s the kind of strength I love to teach — follow along if it sounds like your kind of training too Marina/ Trainer & Nutritionist

I’ve been training women for more than a decade, and every other woman who comes to me seems to have something — back pain, tight shoulders, knees, hips.

I have two kids. I carry them A LOT. I carry bags, groceries, equipment, all the usual life stuff. And I have zero back pain.

Not because I avoid lifting heavy. Quite the opposite.

I’ve spent years making my body strong enough for what I ask it to do every day.

And I think this is where we get it wrong with women. We’re so often told to be careful, lift lighter, don’t overdo it.

But life isn’t light.

This is why I train the way I train — and why I train women the same way.

Strength, mobility, control. Nothing extreme. Just a body that can handle your everyday life.

That’s what I mean when I say everyday strength. This is the type of movement I teach at SheMoves club, it combines pushing, pulling it works your core and legs. There is hardly any muscle in your body that it doesn’t work. Must try! Follow Marina/ Trainer & Nutritionist for more!
