𝐘𝐈𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐆𝐀 — 𝐒𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍, 𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍 & 𝐋𝐄𝐓 𝐆𝐎
Yin Yoga is a quiet, deeply nourishing practice that invites us to slow down, turn inward and reconnect with the body.
Unlike more dynamic styles of yoga, Yin postures are generally held for several minutes, allowing the body to gradually soften while we observe sensations, thoughts and emotions as they arise.
Yin is not about forcing the body into a shape.
At Sol Yoga, we practise functional Yin Yoga — recognising that every body is different, with different bone structure, proportions, mobility and limitations.
Rather than trying to make everyone look the same in a posture, we explore the function of the posture and find the variation that creates an appropriate sensation for your body.
There is no perfect shape to achieve.
No competition.
No forcing.
The slow pace, stillness, mindful breathing and longer holds can give the nervous system an opportunity to move away from constant activity and towards a more restful state.
