This time of restricted movement affects different people in different ways. For some of us, it is a pleasure to stay at home and be with loved ones. For others, we feel trapped inside unable to go out, and for others being in constant contact with the same people can also feel claustrophobic and oppressive. It is important to remember we can manage our own energy, and if we need space it is important to speak to those we share spaces with and create clear boundaries, and have alone time if we need it to recharge our energy levels. Rediscovering reading and avoiding too much social media can help us find balance at a time when we can be constantly over-stimulated by newsfeeds we are powerless to influence and which can cause fear.
Spend some time on your own thinking about how you wish to structure your day and how much company and alone time suits you best and then work with those around you to create those conditions that support you.
If you wish to speak to an outsider about how you feel and what is going on for you, most of us are available on skype or Zoom and these platforms work well for one-to-one sessions when we are not able to meet physically.
