Harambee Harambee (which means "Let's pull together" in swahili) aims to make basic eye care accessible by empowering slum communities

Harambee provides urban slums with locally manufactured affordable eyeglasses. Slum-dwellers are either trained to become tradesmen who craft the eyeglasses, or
micro-entrepreneurs, who conduct eye-screenings to their community members. Through various channels and networks, Harambee aims to make basic eye care accessible to the visually impaired.
