"For a long time, I also sang and played music following specific forms (contact dance, yoga, puppet theater, with Palya Bea, Bobby McFerrin, in an Afro-Caribbean band), then - 12 years ago - I came to Brazil, where, through Afro-Brazilian music, I learned about the miracle of free, improvised singing and drumming and the ecstatic, cheerful, and vital state that can be reached this way. I also got my nickname here, in Portuguese Boca / Voca is a person who sings all the time. After Brazil, the music of Peru, Colombia, Cuba and Africa followed, and today these regions and their instruments provide the musical basis for my workshops and concerts.
Since 2018, my songs have also been published as solo works, and since 2019, I have been holding weekly Free Singing Circles.
Since 2021, I have also been involved in instrument making: I make easily portable, guitar-sized, 14-string African harps to order.
In the spring of 2022, my most exciting and closest musical formation to date was born: a duo with Iszlai Reni, in which we freely improvise with our vocals and instruments, guitar and clarinet. The qualities of the Sun and the Moon come together and are fulfilled in our music: southern, tropical rhythms and melodic worlds intertwine with the atmospheres of northern, Scandinavian regions."
