What a week it has been!

With temperatures soaring, we hope you are all staying hydrated, drinking plenty of water and keeping out of the midday sun wherever possible. 💧☀️

We have been particularly busy this week, seeing lots of holidaymakers who have picked up injuries whilst travelling or trying activities they would not usually do at home! From new adventures to unfamiliar sports, the body can sometimes need a little extra support when we are outside our usual routine. 🏖️

Do you need a blood test before starting HRT?

Not usually.

During perimenopause, hormone levels fluctuate constantly, so a blood test only gives a snapshot of what your hormones are doing at that exact moment. It can be completely normal one day and very different the next.

For most women over 45, perimenopause is diagnosed based on symptoms, not blood tests.

If you’re experiencing hot flushes, poor sleep, anxiety, brain fog, joint aches, irregular periods, or other symptoms, that is often enough to consider starting HRT.

Blood tests are still useful in some situations, but a “normal” result does not mean your symptoms aren’t real.

Your symptoms matter, and they deserve to be taken seriously.
