How do you turn 30 years of global operational experience into a scalable learning model for the future workforce? 🌍

We are thrilled to be featured in the September issue of ITIJ Magazine, highlighting the launch and ongoing expansion of the MCI Academy. This comprehensive piece explores how we are addressing a critical structural challenge in international medical assistance: ensuring consistent, high-standard training for rapid-response case management.

Since our founding in 1996, MCI Group has prioritized excellence in cross-border coordination. With the Academy, we have transformed our internal knowledge base into a powerful external resource. Through accredited, case-based training, we are accelerating onboarding, bridging geographic gaps (especially with our continued growth across MCI Latam), and elevating service quality globally.

Our thoughts are with Nepal

The catastrophe in Nepal shows how a changing climate is intensifying natural hazards and devastating communities.

Across the Himalayas, rising temperatures are accelerating glacier melt, destabilizing mountain environments and increasing the risk of floods, landslides and other cascading disasters. Nepal has lost nearly one-third of its glacier ice in just over 30 years, while glacier melt increased by 65% in the last decade compared with the previous one.

These growing risks affect communities worldwide, making preparedness and rapid response essential.

At MCI Group, we support travelers, clients and organizations during crises by coordinating medical assistance, evacuations, repatriations and other critical services.

Our thoughts are with the people of Nepal, the families affected and the emergency teams working under extremely difficult conditions.

A changing climate is driving greater risks. Preparedness and responsible action are essential.

Where do the biggest healthcare savings really come from: medical bill auditing or negotiation?

In international healthcare, effective cost containment starts with understanding exactly what is being charged and whether those costs are fair, justified and medically appropriate.
Medical Claims International S.L., part of the MCI Group ecosystem, combines detailed medical bill auditing with experienced provider negotiation to identify billing discrepancies, unnecessary costs and opportunities for sustainable savings.
Auditing provides the evidence. Negotiation turns that insight into action. Together, they create a stronger approach to healthcare cost control while maintaining quality of care and constructive relationships with providers.
In our latest article, we explore how both processes work and why an integrated approach can make international medical billing more transparent, controlled and sustainable.

When is flying a patient home really the right medical decision?

Medical repatriation is one of the most complex situations in international assistance. A patient's condition, fitness to fly, the level of care available locally, transport requirements and continuity of treatment all need to be carefully assessed before a transfer takes place.
In our latest MCI Group article, we explain how medical repatriation decisions are made and why experienced medical coordination is essential throughout the process.
From evaluating whether a patient is stable enough to travel to selecting the appropriate transport and coordinating care between medical teams, every step requires clinical judgment, careful planning and clear communication.
The objective is always the same: to ensure the patient reaches the most appropriate place for continued care as safely and efficiently as possible.

The future of international medical assistance depends on the people who make it possible.

Healthcare is evolving rapidly, and professionals need more than technical knowledge. They need the skills, confidence and practical experience to make sound decisions in complex, real-world situations.
That is why we created The MCI Academy. Built on more than 30 years of experience across the MCI Group ecosystem, it provides practical training for healthcare professionals, case managers, assistance coordinators and organizations working in international healthcare.
By combining real operational experience with high-quality education, we are helping prepare the next generation of professionals to deliver better care, stronger coordination and better outcomes for patients around the world.

The recent forest fires in Spain and France have affected families, homes, natural spaces and entire communities.

They remind us that environmental protection is not only about nature. It is also about people, health, safety and the places we share.

At MCI Group, we believe that small actions, better preparation and education can help us respond more responsibly to the challenges that are becoming more frequent around us.

This is why we continue to support environmental awareness and why, through MCI Academy, we offer training related to first aid, medical assistance and crisis management.

Taking care of the environment is also taking care of ourselves.

When disaster strikes, solidarity becomes action.

Following the devastating earthquakes that affected Venezuela, MCI Group mobilised a humanitarian response to help communities facing the immediate consequences of the crisis. Together, our companies contributed €24.000 to provide essential food, healthcare supplies and basic necessities for families affected by the disaster.

For us, this initiative goes beyond financial support. It reflects the values that guide our work every day: caring for people, acting with responsibility and standing alongside communities when they need it most.

As an international healthcare and assistance ecosystem, we also recognize the vital role of medical coordination during humanitarian emergencies. Ensuring access to healthcare, supporting providers and coordinating care are essential to helping affected populations recover in the days and weeks that follow. Humanitarian needs continue to evolve as communities face ongoing health challenges after the earthquakes.

World Population Day | 11 July

As the world's population continues to grow, so does the need for accessible, resilient and equitable healthcare systems.

Every community deserves timely access to quality medical care, regardless of geography or circumstance. From preventive healthcare and emergency response to chronic disease management and international medical assistance, healthcare access remains one of the foundations of healthier societies.

At MCI Group, we are committed to strengthening global healthcare through medical assistance, provider network development, cost management, financial coordination and professional education. By connecting patients, healthcare providers and organizations across borders, we help make quality care more accessible when and where it is needed most.

On World Population Day, we recognize the importance of building healthcare systems that can respond to the evolving needs of a growing and increasingly connected global population.
