Last week I swapped my social padel game for a professional training session.

And once again, it confirmed something I see every day in practice:

👉 Technique makes the difference between loading your body… and overloading it.

Especially in padel.

Many players switch from tennis to padel. It looks similar, but the movement patterns are quite different—especially when it comes to stopping, turning and changing direction.

And that’s where things often go wrong.

The body keeps moving in familiar patterns, while the demands of the sport have changed.

👉 The result? Often knee pain.

But interestingly, the problem is usually not just in the knee.

In practice, I often see:
– large steps instead of short, controlled footwork
– limited mobility in the hip or ankle
– lack of stability in the chain
– a rapid increase in load

Padel asks a lot from your body. If technique and load capacity are not aligned, the knee often ends up taking the hit.

👉 That’s why I always look beyond the area where you feel pain.

Do you recognise this when playing padel (or another sport)?
Feel free to reach out or send me a message.
