Daily reminder to myself!

LIFE IS TOO SHORT NOT TO LOVR YOURSELF!

I was told "You need to love yourself" but I did not know how...

Was told "Be kinder to yourself" but that was alien to me... putting pressure on myself, achieving, having high standards and drive was what I lived on...

Until health symptoms told me to slow down, change my focus, learn and grow... heal...

Now my days of self-loathing, my Inner Critic aka Bully, and self-sabotage, bordering on abuse, are behind me...

It has taken a lot of work to get to this point of self-acceptabce, self-compassion and self-love... with all my imperfections, "flaws", mistakes, shame.. ongoing letting go old old narratives about myself...

I am determined not to go back there (though winter blues do make it challenging!!)...

Life IS too short!

The world feels more chaotic, how do you prevent yourself getting overwhelmed? Feeling hopeless or helpless? How do you maintain balance?

So many small ways, we can all numb ourselves from the realities and challenges in our own lives and the worldmore broadly...

But some simple ways to start...

- Go within... check in on how you are really feeling inside yourself and acknowledge those emotions...
Focusing too much on the external things like the news can impact your nervous system, increase anxiety, fear ot anger (which have their place of course) but can bring us down...

- Try focusing on things that bring you joy like time with close friends or a creative hobby... not just escape the present (hello Netflix, wine)...

- Slowing down, getting into nature, noticing all the signs of spring coming... signs of brighter times & hope...

I hope this small reminder helps ✨️✨️✨️
