Spending time with loved ones, seeing the genuine relationships, keeps giving me inspiration.
Hope is not inspired.
I feel inspired by creatives, nature, definitely by fruit and cuisines.
When I see a man reflect the love for his partner with long term vision (and strategy) and also capacity for tenderness in the present, this inspires me to lean into my heart and vision for my own path.
Over the last few years, really the last 10 years, I’ve been weaning myself off of hope and more into prayer, inspired action, and answering the call of people I trust.
Sometimes my work looks like opening a restaurant or consulting for a cafe opening,
or private chef for medicine retreats
or writing a book on food, families and dreams.
But lately I’ve been rediscovering what relationships mean to me, in the context of family, nurturing communities that honor the whole person, and all people.
Somehow just standing at the marina seeing the boats and yachts reminds me of a time where we come closer together and in harmony.
It’s not something I desire, I already see it happening. How is it possible that two people love each other and weather the storms and don’t just become “ships passing in the night”?
Through my own experiences in and out of marriages and partnership, of deep inner work, I feel courage in my heart again. Not from fear of failure or rejection, and certainly not from hope, but more from the knowing that life is beautiful and long enough to experience heartbreak again and again.
Whether I’m in a cute riviera or remote mountain I meet people willing to experience love at every angle. Often the sacrifices are extreme, but worth it.
I don’t hope for you to understand, only to experience the subtleties of love and embody your values at each breath.
