In the Amazon it is called mapacho, a sacred master plant that lives in a completely different world than anything you have known. The people speak of it as a spirit, a wise and gentle protector. They call it Grandfather.
Its smoke is prayer made visible. Grown in prayer, gathered with intention, offered to cleanse a space, to lift what feels heavy, and to carry the wishes of the circle toward the world of spirit.
Where the great medicines open and expand you, Grandfather brings you home. He steadies you. He returns you to your center. For thousands of years he has stood as the quiet guardian of the ceremony, the keeper of the space.
We hold him with reverence. Not a habit, but a relationship. Not smoke, but prayer.
