Trying to make the transition from mixed grip to hook grip but my thumbs are NOT okay 😅

I managed hook grip for all of my warm up sets, but when I got to my top sets, I only made it through 2 reps before my thumbs felt like they were about to fall off and I had to switch to straps.

I'm going to keep using hook grip for all of my warm up sets and gradually build up my tolerance, and pray that my thumbs will eventually adapt.

If you have any advice on how to make it less painful please let me know 👀

Did you know that 80% of autoimmune disease diagnoses are given to women? Or that 1 in 3 women suffer from a chronic women's health issue?

Yet women's health remains chronically underfunded and under researched.

And that gap doesn't stop at medical research, it extends straight into the fitness industry.

Standard personal training certifications and yoga teacher trainings rarely touch on female specific anatomy, cycle awareness, hormonal shifts, or pelvic floor health.

Traditional yoga poses were designed for male bodies, yet most modern day yoga teacher trainings cue these poses without making any distinctions or adjustments for women's bodies.

At the same time, standard personal training courses fail to teach coaches how to navigate the very health conditions affecting a third of their female clients, from endo flares to PCOS.

Women are handed cookie cutter training programs designed around male physiology, and left to figure the rest out on their own.

Women deserve better than one size fits all fitness.

You deserve movement practices, coaching, and care that honor your actual physiology.

If you are ready to work with a coach who has dedicated her life to providing women specific coaching and care, just drop me a DM with 'WOMAN'

From menarche, to menstruation, to pregnancy, to motherhood, to perimenopause, to menopause and beyond… our hormones are changing dramatically, and so are we.

I wouldn't train a healthy 20 year old the same way I would train a perimenopausal 35 year old with PCOS.

I wouldn't train a postpartum mama the same way I would train a woman going through IVF.

I wouldn't train a post-hysterectomy woman whose goal is to maintain bone density and physical fitness the same way I would train a woman struggling with irregular cycles and PMDD who just wants to feel normal again.

Because women aren't one size fits all.

Our bodies, hormones, circumstances and needs can change throughout our lives, and sometimes even from one phase to the next.

And if you're not going through a transitional phase right now, you don't have any women's health concerns, and you don't feel like you need an extra level of support from someone who understands the different phases, hormonal changes and bumps in the road… that's totally fine. Keep doing what is working for you.

But if any of this DOES resonate with you…

If you've been struggling with your fitness, your wellness or your women's health, and you don't know how to get back on track and feel like yourself again…

Reply to this message with WOMAN, and let's have a chat about your goals and how I can support you.

Because your training should work with your body, not against it.
