Irrigation

The effects may be water mining, land/soil subsidence, and, along the coast, saltwater intrusion. Irrigation projects can have large benefits, but the negative side effects are often overlooked. The lower the irrigation efficiency, the higher are the losses.

New Production Manually drilled well pump test in Ofla Woreda, This is the frist funcational well which is drilled by using Auger and Sludging techinques.
Now the the hand Auger training changed from theory in to ultimate goal of training.

This artisan aquifer is bounded in top and bottom by non permeable earth materials.
Due to high overlaied pressure of earth materals, GW inside the earth, become pressurized, this causes flow of water without any lifiting force!!!

Geology can play great role for once country development
1. Understanding groundwater can enable us to
bring clean water to communities
2. An in-depth knowledge of hazards (such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and landslides)can inform and improve efforts to reduce the
impact of disaster events. 3.Local minerals and rock materials can improve agriculture, be asource of income generation and be used in infrastructure.
4. Knowledge of chemicals in rocks (e.g., fluoride and arsenic) can inform healthcare.
5. Research on Earth’s past climate gives us a better understanding of the impacts of
anthropogenic climate change.
