Few words to congratulate a young ophthalmologist from Bahir Dar University CMHS.
Dr. Yordanos Tsehai Jemberu is an outstanding ophthalmologist with what I can only describe as one who has a good eye for eyes.
After completing a postdoctoral research fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (Proctor Foundation), she went on to complete her Cornea and External Eye Disease subspecialty training in Nepal at the Nepal Eye Program - Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology this May 2026.
She is a person of hardwork, modesty, and patient centered care. She rarely appears on media, speaks little about her achievements, and yet her success speaks for itself. I am writing this as a witness as a proud lifelong friend, family and colleague.
Beyond her compassionate medical service, she is also married and a devoted mother of two beautiful kids with exemplary work life balance.
Dr. Yordanos also carries forward a powerful legacy as the daughter of the late Dr. Tsehay Jemberu, a brilliant intellectual, author, and former university president who transformed higher education at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia.
Congratulations again Dr. Yordanos Tsehai upon completing your subspeciality on Cornea and External eye disease!
