Hi my name is Damien! I am a trans and q***r, Italian tattooer and my pronouns are they/them.
I moved to Finland in 2015 and began my professional tattoo journey after an apprenticeship at a studio in 2017 in Helsinki.
I’ve gained my mandatory tattoo hygiene pass in Italy by Confartigianato Liguria after 4 months of studying dermatology, epidemiology, ink and studio laws. As part of the course, I’ve also trained at a tattoo studio in La Spezia, my hometown. To keep updated, I’ve also participated in the annual F.T.A.A. hygiene workshop in Tampere in 2023. As part of my education, I participated in Skin Deep Workshop on how to tattoo darker skin tones. I also attained a certificate in permanent make up (and permanent makeup removal (no laser).
For me, tattooing means creating a bond of trust with the customer in a safe environment, as both will work together creating something that will accompany the latter for life. For transparency, during each appointment, I explain what I’m doing and ask about the comfort levels of my clients at all times, no matter if they already have tattoos. Questions and breaks are always welcome at any point. Consent is the key and foundation of the process from the very beginning.
I enjoy doing any kind of work but these styles are what I have more experience with and enjoy most:
•traditional style tattoos with a twist;
brush stroke, heavily texturised abstract tattoos;
texturised blackwork tattoos;
freckles;
cover ups and blast overs (also over scars);
Every tattoo I do is AI-free and the subjects are designed by me, inspired by my hobbies, things I like and relate to, history, etc.
I've always loved to do stuff with my hands, movies and theatre! I also enjoy to read, crochet, learn new languages and be in nature when possible.
