As radiotherapy departments face growing patient volumes and increasing pressure on clinical resources, many teams are exploring where AI can make a meaningful difference.

In this edition of 'Expert Perspectives: AI in Radiotherapy', Christoph Dumke, Dr. med., from Vivantes Berlin-Spandau shares his perspective on how AI-supported contouring is already helping improve workflow efficiency, reduce variability, and support more standardised treatment preparation.

He also reflects on the future of AI-driven planning and personalised radiotherapy workflows.

Imaging has always been at the core of radiotherapy. What is evolving is the role it plays in planning, adaptation, and daily decision-making.

Synthetic CT is becoming an important component of these evolving workflows. It supports MR-only planning by removing the need for CT simulation, enables reliable dose calculation from CBCT for adaptive workflows, and helps address the dosimetric impact of contrast when enhanced scans are clinically necessary.

These capabilities are increasingly relevant as departments look to maintain precision while managing growing clinical complexity.

Our latest article explores the clinical evidence behind synthetic CT across MR-only, adaptive, and contrast-enhanced workflows, and what these developments mean for patient care.

Every 9 seconds, someone in the EU is diagnosed with cancer.

During the European Week Against Cancer, we recognize the importance of prevention, research, early detection, and equal access to care for patients across Europe.

At MVision AI, we believe technology can help healthcare teams work more efficiently and consistently in radiotherapy planning. Our AI-powered solutions are designed to reduce repetitive manual work and support clinicians in delivering high-quality care with confidence.

We’re proud to contribute to a future where innovation helps improve cancer care pathways for both clinicians and patients.

has come to a close.

Over the past few days in Stockholm, we had the opportunity to connect with customers, clinicians, physicists, researchers, and partners from across the field — all working toward the same goal: improving patient care through smarter, more efficient technology.

The discussions around AI-driven workflows, Workspace+, and the future of radiotherapy were truly inspiring. The insights and feedback shared throughout the congress will help shape our product development as we continue working hard to bring new features and innovations to our customers.

We’re excited for what’s ahead.

See you nest year in Milan.

In radiotherapy clinical trials, small inconsistencies in contouring can turn into major challenges for data quality, review timelines, and study reproducibility.

That’s why MVision AI and AQUILAB by Coexya combined their expertise to bring AI-assisted contour review into RT QA workflows for multicenter trials.

With MVision Contour+® integrated into the ONCO PLACE platform, reviewers can quickly identify:
▸ laterality errors
▸ missing structures
▸ morphological discrepancies

Instead of spending valuable time on routine checks, clinical teams can focus on the cases and decisions that require expert attention.

The impact goes beyond prospective QA workflows. Retrospective re-segmentation of historical datasets can now be performed at scale, enabling new radiomics, dosimetric, and ancillary research opportunities from existing trial data.
