Not all Lapland experiences are the same.

These are photos from our everyday tours. Nothing staged. Nothing built for tourists. Just real people, real places, and the Lapland we call home. Everything you see with us ; we guides or places- we didnt come here for you, we are made of this place. Thats when and ehy you feel the different vibes 💓.

We take you beyond the crowds, beyond the busy resort, and into a world that has existed long before tourism arrived. Here, you’ll meet hundreds of reindeer, hear real authentic stories, explore untouched wilderness, and experience Lapland through local eyes.

Today, while some of us have been busy with maintenance work at the cabin, the rest of Finland has been celebrating the end of the school year. The spring semester is over, summer adventures are calling – just as the open fells and forests have been calling our reindeer. 🦌❤️

One very special member of our reindeer family, Sara, also received her lower secondary school graduation certificate today! And that’s not all – she was awarded a well-deserved scholarship for both her outstanding handicraft skills and her entrepreneurial spirit. 🫶 Congratulations, Sara! We are so proud of you.

Sara has applied to the Reindeer Husbandry School in Inari as well as to a childcare studies program in Rovaniemi. Time will tell which path she chooses, but one thing is certain: you’ll continue to see Sara at our reindeer farm on weekends and during holidays. 🥰

Sara plays an important role here. She is the one who patiently trains our reindeer to walk on a lead and helps her father with daily reindeer herding work. Her dedication and love for the animals shine through in everything she does.

This is life in the North – full of traditions, hard work, dreams, and new beginnings. 💓

Congratulations to everyone who graduated or completed their school year today. We wish you a wonderful summer filled with adventures, joy, and unforgettable memories! ☀️✨

I asked in my stories if you wanted to hear some thoughts and insights from our 10-day trip to Thailand — and you did! So here’s a little update about our experiences 💓

Since it was my first time visiting the country, we chose a package holiday for convenience. Now that I know a little more, I would probably book flights and hotels separately next time.

For me, traveling is about relaxing, getting to know a different culture, enjoying good food, going on excursions, and simply enjoying life for a while.

Thailand really is a perfect place for all of that! Would I go again? Absolutely. But next time I’d probably stay in a different part of the island, maybe do some island hopping, or even explore a completely different area. Then again, the world is full of beautiful places.

The main thing is this: travel at least a little. It broadens your perspective and leaves you richer in experiences 💓

Today I started my morning by baking a cake, which I later got to enjoy together with my family 💛

Just like I bake all the treats for our adventures and prepare the meals for our guests here at Soma Adventures with my own two hands.

I truly love baking, hosting, and creating moments where people can gather around good food and feel at home. And besides everything tasting delicious, it’s important to me that everything also looks beautiful and feels cozy — the little details make moments special ✨

Today we celebrate here Mothers🥰. Whether you are a mother, grandmother, bonus mom, mother-to-be, or simply someone with a caring heart — Happy Mother’s Day to you, wherever in the world you are 🌸

Summer isn’t even here yet, but let’s take a moment to think about autumn already! 🍂

Autumn in Lapland is truly magical. The landscapes burst with colors, and the Northern Lights dance across the night sky. Nature offers unforgettable experiences everywhere you look.

If you love the idea of Lapland as a winter wonderland, I can promise you that autumn will not disappoint either. ✨

We are now living in one of the eight seasons of Lapland – the ice break-up season.

Nature is slowly awakening after the long winter,
as light returns and the waters begin to flow free.

At the reindeer farms, there is a feeling of quiet anticipation💕.
In just a couple of weeks, we will begin to witness
the birth of tiny reindeer calves🫶🏻.

We’re so excited to see what kind of calves
our gentle and friendly females—for example Pyhä, Tiia, and Queen Elisabeth—will have. 🥰

Last year’s calf, Jörö, will actually be trained for next season
to become a walking reindeer, joining Blueberry, Apollo, and Snooze💪.

Life is pretty soma at the farm, isn’t it🦌🌿?

Work for the next season has already begun. We don’t order firewood—we source it from our own forests. It’s a long process before we get to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace in winter ❤️‍🔥. I actually like this work cause it is quality time with my dad —as well as a great workout for me💪. Still, very rewarding💕.

Today 15th April we guided our very last tour of the 2025–2026 season 🥰

What a beautiful way to end it – with a lovely family from Arizona, experiencing the magic of Lapland’s spring at its very best🤩☀️.

In just a couple of weeks, tiny reindeer calves will be born ( I will be there posting for you videos🥰) and now it’s time to give the mothers their peaceful calving season. Their bellies are already so big 🤍.

Our beloved Bambi has received yesterday a tracking collar, so Raimo and Sara can gently follow the movements of her favorite reindeer in the forest – yes, Bambi truly is one of our all-time favorites 💕. And Blueberry had the honor of being the very last reindeer on duty this season… now his holiday has officially begun 🙏. Bambi walked her off into her well-deserved break like you van see in the video 🥰

The snow is still deep, and the crust carries you beautifully – you can walk anywhere, free and light in the spring wilderness.

But this is not goodbye☝🏻 🤍. We are not just a destination – we are a local family living our everyday life here in our home village. We’ll keep sharing moments from our life and nature with you every week 💕 And I will definitely keep reminiscing about this past winter with you…

This has been only our second season – and yet, so many of you found your way to us. 1500 times thank you to each and every one of you 🙏. I can hardly believe how many of you came to see the wonderland of Lompolo 🥹💓.

Two months until Summer tours starts, but work here never really ends. Stay on tune so you see what happens here off season too and how does Lapland look like when seasons changes🥰.

To celebrate yesterday’s final Northern Lights adventure of the season, I wanted to share some of my personal favorite aurora photos 🥰

In only few, I love the Northern Lights themselves. Some yes, but in some it’s the snow-covered trees, setting. In some, you can really see just how unique our Soma Hide Out truly is. And in some… it’s simply the vibe ❤️‍🔥

By the way, we had 5 (!) engagements happen during our tours this year! Never thought that could happen🥹💓. The Northern Lights really do have a magical power🫶🏻.
