A Finnish care home has adopted the Thermidas IRT-384 Tablet following a successful trial, and the results have been remarkable.

In September 2025, the care home reported zero new pressure injuries for over a year, thanks to the integration of thermal imaging into their daily routines.

Staff concluded that thermal imaging is currently the most effective tool for preventing pressure injuries.

We are thrilled to announce that Thermidas Oy has achieved a groundbreaking milestone. Our thermal imaging method has become the first of its kind in the world to receive Class IIa Medical Device CE certification.

Based on the latest clinical evaluation report, the product provides new insights into the analysis of diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, vascular disorders, arthritis, skin cancer, and autonomic dysfunction in patients. These insights not only aid clinicians in making sound clinical decisions but may also empower patients with a greater awareness of their conditions, enabling them to actively participate in their own care.

This technology changes the paradigm in thermal imaging, providing unprecedented accuracy, speed, and cost-efficiency. With 17 years of dedicated development and comprehensive research, we have ensured the effectiveness and safety of our products, as required by the Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745.

Thermidas is the first company globally to have CE marking for its thermal imaging product in Europe and FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States. This dual recognition positions us at the forefront of healthcare imaging technology, driving global advancements in medical practices.

Thermidas is exhibiting at the National Care Home Conference organised by Scottish Care.

This year’s conference will bring together a diverse array of voices from across the care home sector, including industry experts, policymakers, and frontline caregivers.

Pressure injuries are a common problem in many care homes. Infrared thermography has great value of clinical application in daily pressure injury assessment (1). It can objectively and accurately detect pressure injuries 1 day before visual detection and is therefore able to guide prevention earlier than would otherwise be possible (2).

World Diabetes Day is the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign. It is marked every year on 14 November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin in 1921.

Globally, 537 million people are living with diabetes - that's about 1 in every 10 adults whose well-being is potentially being impacted by diabetes.

63 % of people with diabetes surveyed by the International Diabetes Federation say that the fear of developing diabetes-related complications affects their well-being.

Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFU) are one of the most common complications, affecting up to 34 % of people living with diabetes.

Last week, Thermidas participated in HOMELAND day in Deventer.

HOMELAND wants to improve care to prevent amputations, save costs, and allow patients to maintain their quality of life for longer.

We got to conduct a usability study for the upcoming Thermidas Telehealth Solution and demonstrate the versatility of our thermal imaging ecosystem.

The results of the usability study will be published later.
