"The Second Department of Vascular Surgery at Laiko General Hospital, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, has a long-standing tradition in the treatment of vascular disease and is recognised as a referral centre for complex vascular procedures. Founded and directed by Prof. Chris Klonaris, the Department has continuously evolved to offer advanced open and endovascular techniques across the full spectrum of vascular surgery. Currently the Department, with the contribution of Prof. Efthymios Avgerinos, has further expanded its expertise in venous diseases. Today, our centre provides comprehensive care for patients with acute DVT, PTS and PE, while also participating in major international clinical research initiatives.
We are delighted to contribute to the EVeR Registry and are particularly encouraged by the enthusiastic participation of our patients and clinical team. We believe that collaborative initiatives such as EVeR exemplify the strength of the European vascular community, enabling centres to learn from one another, evaluate real-world clinical practice and continuously improve patient care. International prospective registries are essential for generating high-quality evidence, and we are proud to contribute to an effort that will help shape the future of venous disease management across Europe."
