Ever felt your health is “off”, low energy, poor sleep, tight muscles, fatigue… it might be as simple as you’re low in magnesium.

Most women don’t realise low levels of this essential mineral (that supports over 300 functions) is vital for so many aspects of their own health:

- muscle relaxation
- blood sugar management
- nervous system regulation
- hormone health
- required for ATP and better energy levels
- Helps activate Melatonin for better sleep
- A factor in osteoporosis
Supports adrenal glands and thyroid

In Ayurveda we see the whole person and everything as interconnected. When sleep is poor, hormone health can be affected.

Comment ‘Magnesium’ and we’ll send the name of Magnesium for general women’s health straight to your DM.

Cold water is weakening your digestive system. We’re taught that cold water is healthy. Refreshing. Invigorating.

What is supposed to be healthy becomes a health problem for many. There can be many reasons for digestive and gut health issues.

I also used to drink cold water, especially on a hot day. We think it’s cooling us down.

The reality is - the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda sees it differently.

The simple act of drinking cold water weakens your digestive fire - the very fire your gut relies on to break down food, absorb nutrients and keep your metabolism in balance.

Some of you might feel it’s not important, but when the inner fire cools, digestion slows, energy dips and the body quietly shifts out of optimal health.

This simple and practical habit can help nourish your gut and help your digestive system improve.

Warm or room temperature water does what cold water never can -

Warm water supports your Agni, strengthens your digestive fire and helps your metabolism stay strong to convert food into nourishment for your organs and blood while reducing the build-up of toxicity in the body.

In Ayurveda, metabolism isn’t separate from Agni.

When your Agni is strong it forms Ahara Rasa (the first essence of nourishment) which then nourishes your blood, muscle, fat, bone, nervous system and bone marrow and your reproductive tissues.

If Agni is weak - which cold water contributes to - food digestion, assimilation and optimal health can be compromised.

This simple conscious practice can help you start to focus on building healthy rituals with soul, while the less healthy ones fall away with ease.

If Agni is your life force, why cool it down? What if your inner fire is whispering to be protected?

Want to wake up with energy again, stronger morning starts and feel aligned with your true potential- in your 40’s, 50’s and beyond? Here’s how.

In our 20’s and 30’s we override and push through everything - until our body stops us.

We stay up late
Burn the midnight oil
We push through exhaustion

We run on Adrenaline
We skip early mornings

We ignore the innate whispers because our bodies have the reserve to cope and there always seems to be another day to deal with it.

But by our 40’s and 50’s, everything shifts.

And when you continue to override your innate rhythm - for months, years and decades - the innate whispers become symptoms:

You wake up exhausted
Sluggishness all day
Brain fog that won’t lift

Feeling older than you are
Relying on coffee just to function

When my body started to collapse in my 20’s I had no awareness of this innate wisdom.

But as life unfolds

Your nervous system becomes more sensitive
Your recovery takes longer
Your digestive issues flare-up more often

Your energy demands gentler mornings

Ayurveda wants you to understand deeply:

Your symptoms are not random
Your morning fatigue is not a flaw
Your sluggishness is not who you are

They are signals -
calling you back into alignment with the sun, nature and your true self.

When we rise with Brahma Muhurta, a Sattvic and Vata dominant time of the day (1hour 36 before sunrise) this is why:

Intuition is sharper
Spiritual and mediation practices are deeper
The mind is much more creative
Energy builds with grace and supports healthy ageing

We rise with the sun naturally our hormonal system wakes naturally.

Your energy is lighter
Your mind clears
Your life force begins to build not deplete

This isn’t a hack - it’s Ayurveda’s gift to the world - it’s a timeless science built on over 5,000 years of observation.

This realisation came after deep reflection on how my energy shifted when I woke early in alignment with the sun and nature.

If you keep overriding your body, mind and innate wisdom in your 20’s and 30’s , your 40’s and 50’s will make you stop and listen.

Not because you’re ’not good enough’

Not because you’re ‘failing’

Not because you’ve ‘lost your edge’

But because the strongest body collapses when we’ve overruled it for to long.

Because you’ve taught your body and mind that has been speaking to you - through spirit and conscious awareness - to override it.

My health journey turning point came when I stopped overriding my innate wisdom.

When you keep overriding your body and inner whispers for years, the goal isn’t to ‘be stronger’ - it’s to listen and come back to harmony.

Being in my 50’s myself, I understand the fear that so many women carry today.

The fear of ‘Burnout’

The fear of ‘Slowing Down’

The fear of ‘Illness’

The fear of not being able to ‘Push Through’

And honestly…
Some of that fear isn’t wrong.

Ayurveda wisdom wants you to understand that your symptoms are not random - they’re spiritual signals that something is out of balance.

We live such external, busy lives, that we ignore the inner wisdom when internally we’re falling apart.

The reality is we abandon ourselves.
The truth is our bodies are not fighting against us - they are constantly guiding us back to balance.

Think about it - your innate wisdom already has the answer.

If this spoke to something inside of you, follow for more health and Ayurveda moments like this.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects millions of people around the globe yearly. Every year, as the light fades, days get shorter and something inside me dims.

I used to think it was winter blues, until Ayurveda helped me see it differently.

Ayurveda regards winter as the brmhana season, or building season, the time to slow down, meditate and enjoy more warm, nourishing foods.

Some common symptoms include:
✨Low motivation
✨Dull, foggy mind
✨General feeling of heaviness mentally and physically.

Ayurveda has a lot to say about this.

In Ayurveda, the rhythm if our emotional and physical health is governed by two powerful natural cycles:

✨Dinacharya - our daily routine and dance between light and darkness every 24 hours.

✨Ritucharya - our seasonal routine with cyclical changes across the seasons.

And weaved into these are the daily 24 hour cycle of the three Doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

In classical Ayurveda, there’s a famous quote - it’s said. “He who lives in harmony with time, light and season remains free of disease.”

The reality is our biological clock is ruled by the same solar and lunar cycles that regulate our circadian rhythm.

With long nights, low sunlight, the cold, heavy, slow qualities of Kapha accumulate.

When these qualities of Kapha are weaved into a disturbed daily rhythm (Dinacharya) - waking late, less light exposure and less movement - our digestive and mental fire weakens.

That’s when I’ve turn to:
🌿Tulsi
🌿St.John’s Wort

And Ashwaganda in my own life to help awaken my mental clarity and uplift my mood.

Each body holds it’s own story - check contraindications for your health and interactions with current medications - illness and honour your body’s cues; they’re natures quiet guidance.

Trouble falling asleep, light sleeper, struggle with insomnia? Ever feel your mind won’t switch off and the nights are way too long… the truth is, nature has its own way of whispering you back to rest.

Nutmeg has long been used as a natural medicinal, sleep drink in Ayurveda and dates back thousands of years.

It’s so effective in helping the body relax and the mind calm naturally.

Research has shown that the compounds in nutmeg contains the GABA neurotransmitter which is thought to be able to:

✨reduce stress
✨relieve anxiety
✨improve sleep

In Ayurveda, nutmeg is often combined with a warm milk before sleep and is particularly beneficial for soothing the nervous system.

Ayurveda always emphasises doses and contra-indications - so always do your due-diligence before you try.

So avoid if:

🌿pregnant
🌿breastfeeding
🌿any history of liver or kidney disease
🌿taking sedatives
🌿 have hyper-tension
🌿taking anti-depressants
🌿Max - 0.5g daily - as toxic in high doses.
🌿Heart conditions
🌿Avoid if taking blood thinners
🌿Don’t combine with anti-histamines or muscle relaxants.

Here’s a simple recipe:

Ingredients -
💫 1 cup of whole milk or alternative milk (almond) - no sweeteners
💫An eighth to a quarter of a teaspoon of organic nutmeg
💫A pinch of freshly ground organic black pepper
💫1 teaspoon of organic ghee - (leave out if vegan) - suitable for lactose intolerance.

Pour the milk in a pan, the spices and then ghee, gently heat and enjoy! ☺️

Try it 30 min’s before bed!

In Ayurveda, sleep is an essential pillar of health - without optimal sleep, the mind and body simply can’t fully repair or rejuvenate.

The truth is when sleep is missing, it doesn’t just leave you tired - it begins to unbalance your whole system.
☁️Hormones shift
☁️Digestion slows
☁️ Immuntity weakens

Do you dread the cooler seasons, because you’re forever trying to shake off colds, coughs and those respiratory problems - then you need this ancient Ayurvedic tea.

As the season shifts, as the air and light begin to change - whether you’re moving into cooler drier days or towards warmth and renewal - our bodies naturally seek balance.

Ayurveda calls this - Ritucharya, attuning to nature’s seasonal rhythms.

In certain climates, this time of year, the air is growing colder and drier - and is a time when our immunity can drop and the breath feels more fragile.

This is the season when I reach for Tulsi - or Holy Basil - known in Ayurveda as ‘The Incomparable One.’

For so many of my clients, this beautiful, ancient herb makes all the difference:

💫 Fewer lingering colds, helps remove mucous from the lungs and gently provides a calmer sense of well-being through the darker months.

In my worst seasons battling autoimmune illness and fibromyalgia, I struggled with relentless, chronic rhinitis infections - and blocked sinuses that left me struggling to breathe.

Each cold season, I dreaded, as each year these struggles returned no matter how much I rested.

That’s when Tulsi became a daily comfort - and helped my lungs feel nourished - and a tea I still cherish today.

The reality is - you don’t have # to dread the colder seasons like I did.

Your body naturally wants to heal.

The truth is, sometimes it begins with one mindful sip, one small ritual and with one quiet choice to listen to your body again.

Follow along for the art of living well with Ayurvedic Science, natural health and herbs to restore balance and optimal health through the seasons.

Do you ever have a foggy-mind, forgetful moments or feel like your mind just isn’t firing like it used to - this is for you.

Cognitive decline is quietly on the rise for women - Alzheimer’s, Brain-fog, Menopause, these are not distant, rare fears.

The reality is - your brain is clever. It compensates. It has back-up systems. Whilst… symptoms remain hidden and build momentum.

But over time, the reserves exhaust. Cracks widen. And that’s when the slips - the fog, the lost words, the blank pauses begin to surface.

The truth is: subtle signals often begin 10 - 20 years before a formal, western medical diagnosis.

What I realised in my own health journey is - the gut microbiome can easily become imbalanced (even as far back as birth).

When the gut barrier is compromised, bacteria or their metabolites can leak through the gut lining and cross into places they don’t belong.

We can see this in such places as -the mouth, nasal passages and in some cases the brain itself and then cause symptoms here.

At my worst, my mind felt like a stranger’s - I could recognise what I was looking at (as in it looked familiar) but I couldn’t name it or even remember my own children’s names.

Now years later, I see familiar patterns again and again in my clients.

Conditions such as ME/CFS, chronic hormone imbalances, persistant migraines and fibromyalgia are not separate from brain health.

Here’s the deeper health truth:

✨Leakages can interfere with your neurotransmission.

✨Estrogen hormone supports your mitochondrial efficiency and when its levels change, the brains ability to use glucose can be affected, even diminish.

✨A brain in optimal health can move between glucose and ketones for fuel when needed. But when this process is compromised, cognitive strain, fatigue and foggy moments can creep in and affect your cognitive health.

💫 So eat with your hormones and gut health in mind.
Ditch the unhealthy sugars and fats and enjoy a small serving of chia/flax seeds and walnuts daily to support your brain health.
