EXQUISITE PEAR — An Intuition Born in Barcelona

The story of Exquisite Pear began in Barcelona, during a visit to the factory alongside perfumer Cris Maurice.

In the course of our conversation, I asked him about one of his best-selling fragrances and what, in his view, had made all the difference. He then shared an anecdote that stayed with me: when the fragrance was almost finished, he had the intuition to add a pear note.

A subtle gesture that was enough to elevate the entire composition and give the fragrance an entirely new dimension.

Some time later, we were working together on a gourmand, woody accord. The first trials were promising, but I was still looking for that extra detail, that additional vibration that would fully reveal the fragrance.

After several trials and many conversations with Cris, I remembered that conversation in Barcelona.

What if we added a pear?

We decided to give it a try.

The result was immediate.

The pear brought the light that the accord was missing. Juicy, refined, and delicately addictive, it created a contrast with the depth of the woody notes and enhanced the gourmand character of the fragrance, without ever overpowering it.

Suddenly, everything seemed to fall into place.

What had begun as a simple anecdote shared in Barcelona had become the spark for a new fragrance.

Exquisite Pear was born.

À l’époque, je lui avais simplement fait découvrir un parfum : Cherry of Cashmere.

Un parfum de caractère, élégant, gourmand, avec une signature qu’on n’oublie pas.

Je l’avais vendu à Ousmane Dembélé sans imaginer qu’un jour, ce même client soulèverait le Ballon d’Or.

Aujourd’hui, forcément, ce flacon a une saveur particulière.

Comme quoi… certaines histoires commencent par quelques gouttes de parfum et finissent en or.

Back then, I simply introduced him to a fragrance: Cherry of Cashmere.

A fragrance with character — elegant, addictive, and unforgettable.

I sold it to Ousmane Dembélé, never imagining that one day, that same client would go on to lift the Ballon d’Or.

Today, of course, that bottle carries a whole different meaning.

Funny how some stories begin with a few drops of perfume… and end in gold.
