Part 2 ✨

As I got older, yoga slowly became less present in my life again.

I was working in management, doing long hours, constantly stressed and exhausted. My back hurt constantly and I realised I had stopped smiling at customers — something that felt completely unlike me.

At the same time, yoga quietly started finding its way back into my life again.

I decided to take a month off work and go to Spain for a yoga teacher training. At the time, I still thought I would return to my normal life afterwards.

But something shifted during that month.

When I came home, I realised the life I thought I wanted no longer fit who I had become.

A few months later, I left my job.

Looking back now, I think the training changed my life because it finally gave me enough space to hear myself clearly again.

🇫🇷

Last weekend, 10 more trainees completed their yoga teacher training with us ✨

Looking back over the past 8 months, it’s incredible to reflect on how much transformation can happen when people are simply given space, time and support.

Our trainings always carry a beautiful international energy. This previous group brought together people from America, Australia, China, France, Russia and Italy, guided by teachers from England, France, Australia, Austria, the Netherlands and Lebanon.

Different backgrounds, different stories, different personalities… all coming together through a shared curiosity for yoga and a desire to understand themselves more deeply.

One of the most beautiful things to witness during a training is the shift that happens over time.

People often arrive feeling unsure of themselves, questioning whether they are “good enough”, carrying imposter syndrome or self-doubt.

And then, slowly, something changes.

Week after week, they begin to trust themselves more.
They begin to realise they do have ideas.
That they can create.
That they understand.
That they are capable.

And although we teach asana, philosophy, anatomy and sequencing, the real transformation often happens beyond the mat.

The training becomes a space where people begin to reconnect with themselves, clarify what they want, what they no longer need, and how they want to move through life.

Our next 200h Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training begins in October and we still have a few spaces available ✨

People often think they need to feel:
calm,
flexible,
confident,
well-rested,
“ready”…

before starting yoga.

But most people actually walk into their first class carrying something with them.

Stress.
Fatigue.
Back pain.
Anxiety.
Burnout.
Overstimulation.
Big life changes.

And sometimes, they simply need an hour where they can stop holding everything together for a moment.

That’s why we created The Space.

Not as a place to perform or become someone else, but as a place where people can reconnect with themselves gently, at their own rhythm.

You don’t need to arrive relaxed.
You don’t need to already “be good at yoga”.

You just need to begin somewhere ✨

🇫🇷

Un burn-out.

Tu n’as pas besoin d’arriver détendue.

Hi! I'm Louise, founder of The Space and The Retreat Space!
Welcome here. 🇫🇷 ci dessous

I started practicing yoga as a teenager. My mum was my first teacher and we would practice together at home when I felt stressed about school and exams.

Later, yoga became my own quiet morning ritual before school — a way to feel calmer, more grounded, more connected to myself.

Over the years, yoga has disappeared and reappeared in my life many times. Through injury, stress, good times, big life changes… it somehow kept finding its way back to me.

Looking back now, I think that’s really where the story of The Space began.

This is the first part of a little founder story series I’ll be sharing over the next few weeks ✨

Bonjour! Je suis Louise, fondatrice de The Space et The Retreat Space.
Bienvenu.e!

When we asked you what you thought of The Space,
you didn’t talk about performance —
you talked about how you feel when you leave.
Calmer. Lighter. More connected. 🤍

If you’ve been thinking about starting,
this is your sign.

No need to be flexible,
or to know what you’re doing.

Just come as you are
and begin.

Si tu pensais commencer,
c’est peut-être le moment.

Pas besoin d’être souple
ni de savoir quoi faire.

Juste venir comme tu es
et commencer.

Yin teaches us things about ourselves
that we maybe don't want to hear.

The power lies in the stillness,
the silence and the breath.
That is the practice.
