One thing that helps me is psyllium husk :

✅ Absorb water and soften stools
✅ Supports regularity
✅ Helps reduce straining
✅ Gentle on the digestive track
✅ Supports gut health

👉 Start with 1 teaspoon in a large glass of water and increase gradually as needed

👉 Drink plenty of water
30-40 ml per kg of body weight
If you are active : 35-45 ml

⚠️ Avoid psyllium powder as it won’t mix well in water

When it comes to postural exercises 15 to 20 reps are best as they are postural muscles and they respond better with higher reps.

Most women enter menopause completely unprepared.
And I get it - when you feel fine, menopause feels like someone else’s problem. Something distant that happens to other women. Not you. Not yet.

Then it hits !

My mum choose a different path

I’ve been her personal trainer for over 20 years. She is going to be 75 in June and she shows up every single week without a fail.

Here’s what makes her story extraordinary — 50 years ago she broke her spine and was told she would never walk again.

Really doctor !? 🧐

We don’t do deadlifts or squats — anything that loads the spine is off the table. But we do incorporate functional exercises that keep her strong, mobile and most importantly… independent.

1. I was lifting weights for the wrong reason
I wasn’t skipping the gym but I was training to run faster - not to protect my muscle.
BIG difference. Nobody told me that back then. Nobody.

2. Stopping running at 40 was the best decision I ever made.
The day I put down the marathon training and started actually building muscle - everything shifted.
👉🏻 No unexpected weight gain
👉🏻 No broken metabolism
👉🏻 No dreading what menopause would do to my body
That one decision is why I feel the way I do today.

3. Cardio won’t save you. Muscle strength will.
Let me be clear - cardio isn’t bad for you
But it will NOT build the metabolism that shapes your body.
It will not stop you from gaining fat as your hormones change.
And when menopause hits, that matters more than any medal ever could.
Muscle is your armour. Build it. Protect it. Keep it.

I don’t regret the marathons I just wish I’d known what I know now 🙏

Even if your Mum sailed through menopause, you’re not off the hook. You wish ! 😂

Because regardless of your genetic predisposition — the loss of oestrogen is coming for every single one of us. And with it comes the loss of muscle mass, changes in body composition, and a shift in how your body responds to everything.
The difference is knowing what’s ahead.

If your Mum struggled, you prepare earlier and harder. If she didn’t, you still prepare — because muscle doesn’t maintain itself after menopause - full stop !
And here’s the thing we don’t talk about enough: we’re living longer than any generation before us. That means more years in this body. More years that are shaped by the choices you make right now.
So the question isn’t if you’ll need to exercise and fuel your body differently.

Most women think they can wait.
“I’ll sort it out when menopause hits.”
“I feel fine now — I’ll be fine then.”
I’ve heard it hundreds of times.
And I’ve watched those same women struggle.

Here’s what nobody tells you:
Menopause doesn’t just change your body.

❌It steals your sleep.
❌It drains your energy.
❌It kills your motivation.
❌It makes you feel like staying on the sofa and eating whatever is in sight.

…you can’t build muscle starving yourself on a treadmill.
You need to lift. Progressively. With enough protein and enough food to actually fuel the process.
Muscle IS your metabolism after 40. It’s your energy, your shape, your confidence.
Fat loss is a side effect of building a strong body.
Not the other way around.
Stop chasing the scale. Start building your metabolism and lose fat for good !

Il faut soulever. Progressivement. Avec assez de protéines et assez de nourriture pour alimenter le processus de gagner en force.
Le muscle EST ton métabolisme après 40 ans. C’est ton énergie, ta silhouette, ta confiance.
La perte de graisse est un effet secondaire d’un corps fort.
Pas l’inverse.
