Teaching Pilates becomes so much easier when you build your class around a clear theme.

Instead of choosing random exercises, your theme creates intention, flow, and a stronger client experience.

Low back pain? You’re not alone.

One of the most common questions asked is how to help your back pain, or your clients back pain.

Movement matters- but Pilates can provide superior benefits in managing back pain compared to other exercise forms, and even other (non-Pilates) core exercises.

Swipe through for the facts on why you should add Pilates to support your body and spine.

I’m incredibly honoured to be featured in a 3-page spread in The Pilates Journal, sharing my thoughts alongside some of the industry’s most respected leaders.

The conversation explores the future of Pilates, where the industry is heading, and the exciting opportunities emerging as our profession continues to grow and evolve. Being invited to contribute at such a pivotal moment for Pilates is something I’m so proud of.

I’ve spent all of this year focusing on intentional growth and building the business with purpose- strengthening the brand, increasing awareness, creating opportunities, and laying foundations for the future. All with the same aim of bringing accessible, high-quality Pilates to you, and raising education standards for teachers too.

There is so much happening this year at Freshly Centered, and this feature feels like the most perfect timing.

So, grab yourself a cup of tea, subscribe to The Pilates Journal (it’s free!), and turn to page 42.

Because this is pretty great 💫

This year has been all about intentional growth.

I've spent a lot of time focusing on building the business with purpose—strengthening the brand, increasing awareness, and continuing to develop a clear and authoritative voice within the Pilates industry. It's been a busy 6 months of taking deliberate action, creating opportunities, and laying foundations for the future.

So I'm incredibly honoured to be featured in a 3-page spread in The Pilates Journal, sharing my thoughts alongside some of the industry's most respected leaders.

The conversation explores the future of Pilates, where the industry is heading, and the exciting opportunities emerging as our profession continues to grow and evolve. Being invited to contribute at such a pivotal moment for Pilates is something I'm genuinely proud of.

Layer upon layer. ✨

This loop band mat flow shows how Pilates is about so much more than adding resistance—it’s about adding information.

The band provides feedback that helps you connect more deeply to your glutes, core, and stabilisers while challenging control, coordination, and strength throughout the flow.

As we build layers, we’re not just making exercises harder; we’re creating opportunities for smarter, more intentional movement.

One of the biggest misconceptions about mat Pilates is that it’s “just bodyweight work.” A well-designed mat class can build incredible strength, mobility, and body awareness—and a simple loop band can completely transform familiar exercises.

The magic isn’t in doing more. It’s in feeling more. ✨

Pelvic floor symptoms don’t automatically mean you need to stop lifting weights 💪

• Research now supports heavier lifting is NOT linked to more pelvic floor or prolapse symptoms.

• Symptoms like leaking, heaviness, or pressure are signs to adjust — not avoid movement.

• Strength training can still be safe and beneficial with the right support ✨

The goal is learning how to:
✨ manage pressure
✨ breathe properly
✨ build strength gradually
✨ work with your body, not against it

That support comes from a Pilates foundation. Learning how to effectively engage your core and pelvic floor, and how to manage increased loads without increasing your symptoms is 🔑.

• Your pelvic floor deserves strategy, not fear 🤍

The fitness world loves labels like “beginner” and “advanced” — but movement is so much more nuanced than that.

In Pilates, we prefer language that supports choice, body awareness, and autonomy.

Because needing more support doesn’t make someone less capable.

And choosing more challenge doesn’t make someone more worthy.

The best option is always the one that helps YOU move well today ✨

I’m NOT saying there aren’t different levels of ability. And yes it may be suitable to group classes at times- however WITHIN a class I don’t feel we should focus on these labels- instead focus on the individual and where they’re at that day. Give them positive cues to choose the option that serves them at that time.
