Another thing to add under my belt 🥰

I felt it was so important to get my first aid as I just never know what could happen on my rounds 🥰

But definitely feel better knowing what to do in an emergency if it occurs (let's hope it doesn't)

👣

Hope you all have a lovely weekend ☀️

Shout out to all my amazing clients 💕

I would love if anyone could leave me a review on both Google & Facebook. I'm so bad at remembering to ask at appointments 🫣 usually to distracted. But they really do make such a difference to my small business.

Reviews for Facebook can be left at the top here ⬆️ and any Google reviews can be left here https://share.google/vVpNCbTE7OcTPRKIX

Thank you all so much 💕

Why are reviews important?

👣 Build Trust and Credibility: Positive reviews act as word-of-mouth recommendations, providing "social proof" that makes potential clients feel safe booking with me.

👣 Improve SEO and Visibility: Google considers review count, frequency, and diversity as ranking factors, helping businesses like mine appear higher in search results.

How to help prevent Ingrown Nails 👣

✂️ Trim nails properly
Cut nails straight across, not rounded at the edges
Avoid cutting them too short—leave a bit of white at the tip
Use clean, sharp clippers to prevent jagged edges

👟 Wear the right footwear
Choose shoes with a wide toe box so toes aren’t squeezed
Avoid tight, narrow, or high-heeled shoes for long periods
Make sure socks aren’t too tight either

🧼 Keep feet clean and dry
Wash feet regularly and dry them well (especially between toes)
This helps prevent infections that can worsen ingrown nails

🦶 Protect your toes
Be careful during sports or activities—repeated trauma can lead to ingrown nails
Wear protective footwear if needed (e.g., steel-toe boots for work)

🧴 Soften nails if needed
If your nails are thick or hard, soak feet in warm water before trimming
This makes cutting easier and reduces the chance of improper trimming

🚫 Don’t pick or tear nails
Avoid ripping nails or pulling at the corners
This often causes the nail to grow into the skin

⚠️ Watch for early signs
Redness, swelling, or tenderness at the nail edge
Treat early with warm soaks and proper nail care before it worsens

👨‍⚕️ Consider professional care
If you’re prone to recurring ingrown nails, a Foot Health Practitioner can help with proper trimming techniques

Did you know? 🚨

Having diabetes can affect your feet👣

If you have diabetes here are some tips to keeping your feet healthy. With NHS podiatry being offered less and less going private is the only way to keep your feet healthy & looked after.

1. Check your feet everyday - keep an eye for cuts, scratches, blisters, Corns, Callus or any changes to the skin. Using a mirror under the foot can help with this.

2. Wash your feet everyday - in warm (not hot) water. Don't soak them and ensure they are dried fully. Finish off with a lotion that contains at least 10% Urea.

3. Never go barefoot - to decrease the likelihood of trauma to the feet due to potential neuropathy.

4. Wear shoes that fit correctly.

5. Keep the blood flowing - put your feet up when you sit and wiggle your toes for several minutes.

6. Don't try to remove Corns, callus, or try to cut nails yourself ( if you struggle ) - Some over the counter medicaments can cause more harm than good.

7. Get your feet checked regularly - this is something I provide and any concerns are then passed over to your Dr or Diabetic Nurse

Wow 😲

Thank you all so much for the interaction on my previous post 💖 the lovely comments from current clients and all the new enquiries really mean a lot 🥰

I'm a bit skatty at remembering to ask people to leave reviews 🫣 so if you have enjoyed your experience I would love if you clicked the review bit at the top of the page and then select yes on "would you like to leave a review" 🥰

I'm working through all the messages and emails. Remember if I can't fit you in myself I will pass you on to a trusted FHP. 👣

It's been a while since I done an intro post so for anyone new here a little bit about me and what a Foot Health Practitioner provides

So I'm Jodie and I qualified as a Foot Health Practitioner in April 2024. I live in Aberdeen with my Husband and 2 children and absolutely love my job! It's not a job many people would enjoy (which I hear on a daily basis 😅) but to me it's perfect.

I love being able to visit people in their own homes as I know traveling can be difficult for some. I love meeting my clients and forming lovely relationships which is helped by me loving a good yap!

So what does a FHP do -

👣 provides routine, non-surgical foot care to maintain mobility and comfort
👣 Treating common issues like corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, and fungal infections
👣 Trim, file, and thin nails
👣 Diabetic Foot Health checks
👣 manage foot hygiene, and monitor for problems, referring severe cases to podiatrists.

I am also trained in Onyfix Nail bracing which helps correct involuted nails helping prevent ingrown nails and can also help repair split nails.

I am fully qualified and insured in what I do (this is very important to check when hiring someone to care for your feet) and I'm always on the look out for new CPD courses to further my knowledge and skills. Your tootsies are in safe hands with me 🥰👣

If I can't accommodate and provide an appointment I will always find you someone that I would trust to do my own feet 🥰

Thank you all for being so patient with me during this now very annoying snow ❄️

I am re arranging anyone that needs it I'm hoping things will be better tomorrow but if you have an appointment this month and I change the time slightly please accept my apologies. This week is having a knock on effect for the whole month now and I'm making sure I can get people seen to 👣
