Here’s a difficult one 😳

We’ve recently started stocking “ice cream for dogs” as we realise that many folk like to give their dogs an ice cream when visiting and that our ice creams isn’t always the best to give to a dog.

So we have a product created on Vendingweb called “Doggie ice cream” and it’s kept in the “Ice cream freezer”.
Totally separated from the ice cream for humans.
With a massive label on the sliding top that you have to slide open to access the “Doggie ice cream”
So it is with complete bewilderment that we found the message today to say it wasn’t labelled sufficiently obviously.

Thoughts on what more we could do?

We have lots of nesting birds on the farm and this is one of the nests near the office.

Sadly one swallow was found dead near the stone barn yesterday. When we say “found” we actually mean “caught by Mollie” who was extremely proud of herself!

So we briefly felt sorry for the single parent left as they will be doing much more work. Then we googled it and found that whilst they often pair up they quite happily source another partner when they have to plus they often mate with multiple birds!

Who knew they were such strumpets!

It’s been a busy old week!

Abscess draining, curd cheese making, baby goat trip, Gordonstoun School visit, butter making (hold your nerve when it hits sloppy scrambled egg state!), unique “new methods to die” situations, bluebells and pink bells, happy Britstops campers, crutching ewe hoggs, happy alpacas, escaping goats, tagging lambs and moving fields,
And in the middle of that there has been office work with some complex import docs for a client, alterations to a bridesmaid dress, the usual farm work. And a bad back.
Thank you to those who have helped and supported and added to the chaos!

So back in February we invested in fecpak for the p**p sampling.
Previously we did these through a microscope and manual counting which, as your eyesight deteriorates (are we really getting g old?!), gets a little tedious.
It’s been a little challenging getting to grips with the new process but I think we are getting quicker!
Now we await results. These are checked by humans or, out of hours, by AI and then by humans. Means we get a speedier response we and can treat accordingly.
