Barrier holding up well?
A late August consultation is the right time to check it before anyone chooses an advanced treatment.
By this point in the season, skin can look fine on the surface and still be more reactive underneath. Heat, sun exposure, travel, over-cleansing, actives, and inconsistent SPF use can all leave the barrier less resilient than it appears. If you skip that step and go straight into a more advanced treatment, you risk choosing something the skin is not ready to tolerate well.
That is why the consultation matters so much.
We look at how the skin is actually behaving, not just what it looks like in a quick glance. Sensitivity, dryness, tightness, redness, and a history of overuse all tell a story. From there, we decide whether the skin needs support first, or whether it is ready for something more advanced.
This is where safety and results start to align. A stronger barrier gives you more room to work with. It also helps the skin respond more predictably, which is exactly what you want before moving into a treatment plan.
The best outcomes usually come from patience at the start, not force at the finish.
If you are booking in late August, make barrier resilience the first question, not the last.
