So for today’s WOMEN WEDNESDAY 💪🎀
we’re going a little more personal as it’s Breast Cancer Prevention Week.

Firstly, I want to give a proper Wonder Woman shoutout to both my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, who are currently on their own journeys battling this terrible condition.

Two different women.

Two different mindsets.

Two different ways of taking on the Big C.

But both showing strength in ways most people will never fully understand.

Massive respect to them both ❤️

Now, I’m not going to sit here and preach like I’m some medical expert.

But seeing as it’s prevention week, I thought I’d share a few of the most researched things women can do to help reduce the risk of breast cancer — while also reminding people to stay on top of screening and regular checks if eligible.

Some of the biggest lifestyle factors linked with lowering risk include:

💪 Staying active

Regular exercise has consistently been linked to lower breast cancer risk. Movement matters not just for body weight, but for hormones, inflammation, mental health, and overall wellbeing.

🥗 Maintaining a healthy weight

Especially after menopause, excess body fat can increase risk due to higher estrogen levels and inflammation within the body.

🍷 Reducing alcohol intake

Even moderate alcohol consumption has been linked to increased breast cancer risk. One of those truths people don’t like hearing, but truth nonetheless.

🥩 Focusing on whole foods

A diet built around quality protein, fruit, vegetables, fibre, and minimally processed foods supports overall health and may help reduce cancer risk factors.

😴 Prioritising sleep and stress management

Chronic stress and poor recovery impact the body more than people realise. Rest isn’t laziness it’s maintenance.

And lastly…

Please check yourself regularly and attend screenings when invited.

Early detection saves lives. Simple as that.

Strong women hold families together every single day.

Sometimes they need reminding to look after themselves too.

2 FOR TUESDAY ⚡

Yesterday we spoke about how movement, purpose, and connection can help support people living with dementia.

But here’s the uncomfortable truth…

Dementia often does not begin in old age.

For many people, the groundwork is laid during midlife through years of stress, neglect, poor habits, and isolation.

A few things linked to increased dementia risk later in life:

*Lack of exercise in midlife can contribute to poorer brain health with age.
*Social isolation and loneliness may increase cognitive decline over time.
*Smoking, obesity, inactivity, and high blood pressure are linked to higher dementia risk.
*Chronic stress, burnout, and poor sleep can negatively impact long-term brain function.
*Poor lifestyle habits during your 30s–50s may increase the likelihood of dementia later on.

Now before anyone thinks “well I’m doomed then…”

No.

Lifestyle can change.

One walk.

One workout.

One better meal.

One proper conversation.

Small actions repeated over time still matter.

If a few things on that list hit close to home, good. Awareness matters.

Come back later and we’ll go through some simple ways to start fighting back. 🧠⚒️

Dementia Action Week

Your body was built to move.

And your brain depends on it.

This week is Dementia Action Week — and while there’s still so much we don’t fully understand about dementia, one thing is clear:

Movement matters.

Exercise doesn’t just build muscle or help you lose weight.

It helps protect the mind.

Studies continue to show that regular movement can help reduce the risk of cognitive decline, improve memory, lower stress levels, improve sleep, and support overall brain health.

And for those living with dementia, exercise can help maintain independence, routine, confidence, and connection.

That’s powerful.

You don’t need to become an athlete overnight.

You just need to start moving again.

A walk.

A workout.

A stretch.

A conversation while moving your body instead of sitting still.

Small actions. Done consistently.

Because the truth is this:

We train for more than aesthetics.

We train so we can stay sharp.
Stay capable.
Stay present for our families.
Stay connected to life for as long as possible.

That’s real strength.

This week, move your body for your future self.

And if you know someone living with dementia — give them patience, time, and presence.

Some battles aren’t fought with noise.

They’re fought with compassion.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY

I saw a post recently about a man walking away from a 20-year friendship group because he was always “the one organising everything.”

And at first… I understood it.

Nobody wants to feel like they’re carrying the load alone.

But the more I thought about it, the more I realised something:

Every group has roles.

There’s the one who makes everyone laugh.

The one who keeps the peace.

The one everyone calls when things go wrong.

And then there’s the organiser.

The leader.

The man who keeps people connected.

That role matters more than people think.

Because here’s the truth

A lot of men drift into isolation not through conflict… but through silence, routine, and nobody taking initiative.

Work tells men where to be.

Life keeps them busy.

Years pass quickly.

Without one man saying:

“Come on lads, let’s sort something out”

…many groups slowly disappear.

Now don’t get me wrong

If people constantly cancel, disrespect your effort, or only take from the friendship, that’s different. Standards matter.

But if they show up when it counts?

If they answer the call?

Then maybe you’re not being “used.”

Maybe you’re simply the backbone of the group.

And in a world where men’s mental health is suffering and loneliness is quietly eating away at people… that role has value.

So don’t be ashamed of being:

*the organiser
*the caller
*the one who checks in
*the one who gets the lads together

Somebody has to light the fire.

And more often than not…

the man leading the group is helping hold it together more than he realises.

WOMEN WEDNESDAY 💪

Women carry a lot.

The mental load.
The family schedules.
The work stress.
The expectations.
The pressure to hold it all together while still smiling through it.

And somewhere in the middle of looking after everyone else…
they stop looking after themselves.

Mental health doesn’t always look like falling apart.

Sometimes it looks like exhaustion.
Snapping over little things.
Running on empty.
Feeling lost in the noise of everyday life.

That’s why movement matters.

Not to punish your body.
Not to chase perfection.
But to clear your head. Build confidence. Release stress. And remind yourself that you matter too.

Exercise is more than fitness.
It’s therapy with sweat on it.

So this Women Wednesday, this is your reminder:

You are allowed to take up space.
You are allowed to prioritise your health.
And you do not have to carry the weight of the world alone.

One workout. One walk. One small step at a time.

Keep showing up for yourself.
The people around you need you healthy too. ❤️

👇 Tag the women in your life who hold everything together and deserve this reminder today.

2 FOR TUESDAY — THE ANSWER

The answer is usually boring.

Old-school.

Foundational.

But foundations built strong houses long before social media started selling “life hacks.”

So where do you start?

Not with perfection.

Not with some influencer standing in an ice bath at 4:13am pretending he’s a Viking warrior.

You start smaller than that.

Go for a walk.
Drink some water.
Eat a proper meal.
Lift some weight.
Get sunlight on your face.
Speak to somebody.
Go to bed earlier.
Turn the bloody phone off for an hour.

Small actions.

Repeated consistently.

That’s how people climb out of dark places.

Not because life suddenly gets easier…

but because structure gives the mind something solid to stand on again.

And hear this clearly

There is strength in asking for help.

There is strength in admitting you’re overloaded.

There is strength in rebuilding yourself brick by brick.

A strong life is rarely built in heroic moments.

It’s built in quiet decisions made daily.

One meal.

One walk.

One session.

One honest conversation.

That fire in you?

It may be buried under stress, exhaustion, responsibility and survival mode…

…but buried is not dead.

Still got fight?

Then start there.

The Silent Spiral

Many men and women find themselves trapped in it.

And the scary part is - it rarely happens all at once.

It starts quietly.

Poor sleep.

Poor food choices and bad timing.

No movement.

No time for personal interests.

No switch-off.

Stress starts climbing through the roof.

Energy drops.

Patience disappears.

Then the low moods begin creeping in.

And eventually the dangerous little lie arrives:

“I’m just tired. I’ll be alright tomorrow.”

No mate.

Tomorrow never comes when you’re overloaded.

Mental health struggles often creep in silently.

You stop training.

Start eating whatever is easiest.

You isolate yourself.

And slowly your fire starts going out.

Modern life will happily keep you distracted while your health quietly falls apart in the background.

And here’s the truth most people avoid:

Your mind and body are not separate machines.

Treat your body badly long enough and your mental health pays the bill.

That’s why the answer is rarely found in scrolling more, drinking more, hiding more, or “waiting to feel motivated.”

But don’t worry… I’ve got you.

Pop back later and I’ll give you some simple steps to start moving in the right direction again.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK.
Let’s tell the truth about it.

Exercise won’t magically fix every problem in your life.
But it will give you a fighting chance to handle them better.

A walk clears the noise.
A workout burns off the stress.
A hard session reminds you that you can still do hard things.

Most men don’t need another lecture.
They need movement. Routine. Purpose. Brotherhood.
Something solid to hold onto when life feels heavy.

Your mental health matters.
And looking after it doesn’t always start with talking.
Sometimes it starts with lacing up your trainers and showing up.

This Monday, don’t focus on being perfect.
Focus on moving your body.
Ten minutes. Twenty minutes. One session. One walk. One reset.

Small actions. Big shift.

Your body and mind were built to move - not sit in survival mode all week.

Get up. Get outside. Get training.
Not because you hate yourself.
Because you owe yourself better.

FREE SATURDAY BOOTCAMP 💪

Bank holiday weekend is here.
Most people will hit the brakes completely.

A few drinks. Too much food. Late nights. “I’ll get back on it Tuesday.”

But one session can change the direction of your whole weekend.

Tomorrow morning is your chance to get ahead before the excuses creep in. No mirrors. No egos. No pressure to be fit already. Just good people putting the work in together.

Whether this week’s been solid or a complete write-off, it doesn’t matter now. You don’t need a perfect week to start showing up for yourself again.

Get up. Get moving. Clear your head.
Start the bank holiday feeling strong instead of sluggish.

Wednesday Win.

Not the big flashy transformation.
Not six-pack abs in 6 weeks.
Not “perfect balance.”

Just the quiet wins.

Getting up when you didn’t feel like it.
Training instead of quitting.
Cooking a decent meal instead of living off rubbish.
Going for a walk instead of sitting scrolling.
Keeping your word to yourself for one more day.

That’s the stuff that changes lives.

Most people are waiting for motivation.
Winners build habits when motivation packs its bags and disappears.

So if this week hasn’t been perfect?
Good. You’re human.

But if you’ve still shown up in some way - even tired, stressed, overwhelmed or running on fumes - that’s a win worth respecting.

Small steps.
Repeated often.
That’s how dads get stronger.
That’s how families change.
That’s how legacies are built.

Now your turn.
Drop your win from today in the comments big or small. Let’s give it the respect it deserves.

Keep going.
You’re probably doing better than you think.
