Confession time.
I bought a bag of bark the other week, and in a hurry opened and emptied it in a rose bed ,( yes it says on bag wear gloves ) however I pricked my finger on the rose while doing so then put other bits and pieces into the green house then went inside to wash my hands .
A few hours later the finger got red ,hot, swollen and wouldn't bend . Hmmm infection , so I added my faithful hydrosol silver gel ,then neat tea tree essential oil. Next day I went to a pharmacy to buy a finger shield but was told I'd need to see a doctor for that . So after applying more silver gel and tea tree I noticed it calming down , and finger bending. Next day it was almost back to normal.
The moral of the tale Is always wear gardening gloves when handling bark and compost and keep hydrosol silver handy in the cupboard !
