Little Energy Experiment

Last week I sent some distance Reiki to help with a hangover… and the feedback this morning was that it worked! 👀

So it’s made me curious…

I’m looking for 5 ladies who would like to take part in a little experiment with me.

This week, a client returned to see me after 15 years.

She first came to me for a Reiki session when I had only just started out in practice. She reminded me that she arrived feeling rough even hungover and left feeling so good she was skipping. At the time, I was newly qualified, learning as I went, and simply focused on offering the best care I could in that moment.

Back then, I didn’t really know how to suggest regular sessions or ongoing support. Clients came, clients went, and that was part of the journey.

Fifteen years later, she found me again and came for lymphatic drainage reflexology. We are both in very different places now. I’m in my 60th year, nearly two decades into this work, quietly planning how I’ll navigate the years ahead and eventual retirement. She, too, is in a good place.

When she left her session, I felt a wave of emotion a little tear of joy, pride, and deep gratitude.

I don’t even know if social media existed when I started, and if it did, I certainly didn’t know

Nearly 20 years on, I’m still here. Still practising. Still learning. Still grateful.

And quietly proud of how far this journey has taken me.

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) is a gentle reflexology treatment I offer to support the lymphatic system in a calm, nurturing way.

This specialist technique was created by Sally Kay Reflexology, using specific reflex points on the feet that relate to the lymphatic system, lymph nodes, and drainage pathways throughout the body.

During an RLD session, I work precise reflex points on the feet to gently encourage the movement of lymph around the body.

Because the lymphatic system doesn’t have its own pump, it relies on gentle stimulation to keep things flowing. This is why RLD is so subtle and calming there’s no forcing or pushing, just supporting the body to do what it naturally knows how to do.

Clients often tell me they feel lighter, more comfortable, and deeply relaxed afterwards.

RLD and my Manual Lymphatic Drainage training

I trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) back in 2009, which works directly on the body using light, rhythmic massage techniques to support lymph flow.

RLD works differently, as it’s carried out entirely through the feet. This makes it a lovely option when:
• the body feels sensitive
• direct bodywork isn’t suitable
• something more nurturing is needed

Both MLD and RLD support the lymphatic system RLD simply offers a gentler, reflex-based approach that many women find deeply restorative.

I often recommend RLD for:
• water retention or bloating
• swelling in the tummy, legs or ankles
• hormonal changes
• post-surgery recovery support
• feeling heavy, sluggish, or out of balance

This is a non-invasive, calming treatment and is suitable for women who want gentle support rather than intensive bodywork.
