It’s World Mental Health Day today.
I am not an expert on Mental Health
I am however an expert on how my battle with my mental health has affected me personally.
I wish I knew way back then, when my world felt like it was imploding, that vulnerability was actually my ace card, my superpower, when I learned what to do with it 🩷
And this experience has allowed me to be far more mindful, compassionate and understanding of myself and others who are, or have been on this journey with themselves and others.
And this year, all of these feelings have come back to the surface, due to one thing and another, and it was so easy to fall back into the pattern of putting yourself last and feeling weak for not being able to take on the world single handed.
What I can share with you from my personal experience is this.
Mental Health IS NOT
❌something you can just snap out of
❌shameful
❌a sign of weakness
❌always negative
❌feeling bad all the time
Mental Health IS
🩷worth prioritising over everything else
🩷something everyone has
🩷complex
🩷real
🩷positive and negative
It is so incredibly important to look after your mental health, every day.
It is also important to understand that what works for you may not work for someone else and vice versa. It’s personal to you.
Give yourself some grace.
Prioritise your Mental Health today and everyday 🩷🩷🩷
Your mind, body and soul will thank you.
