September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, so many forget how much an injury or illness affecting the spinal cord can affect so many things in life. Once the spinal cord is injured these messages are interrupted or stopped all together depending on a complete or incomplete injury.
These messages not being received can affect ability to maintain or control body temprature, loss of bowel and bladder control, inability to feel temperatures, spasms or nerve pain.

Alt description blue background with a white spine outline to the left hand side in white text it says "Did you know?" Under there is navy blue text which explains the spinal cord shares messages too and from the brain to all parts of the body.

This weekend we visited the exhibition
What stood out to us was the representation of a range of disabilities. It was lovely to see that children can now play with Barbies with hearing aids, AFOs, vitiligo, prosthetic legs and wheelchair user Barbies. They even had a custom Barbie wheelchair ramp!
This is what we need to see more of in toys πŸ₯°
The exhibition is on until the middle of October if you wanted to head along.

Alt description a page of Barbies they are all pictured on a pink and orange background. Some of the Barbies are standing on a stand others are sitting in their wheelchairs. Some have accessories like AFO's, prosthetic legs, hearing aids and manual wheelchairs.

It was so lovely to get this review from Mrs Stuart, she took delivery of her Klaxon power in June. Its so nice to get a wee update from her and see her exploring and enjoying her new freedom 😊
A power add on really can give you the ability to explore more, be adventurous and enjoy going longer distances.

(Alt description picture is showing Mrs Stuart smiling at the camera she is wearing a red t shirt and jeans and white trainers she sitting in her blue manual wheelchair connected to the front is her Klaxon power bike. Her bike is sitting on the grass with an old ruin of building in the background)

We are grateful to be asked to join Belle's Buddies for this years Edinburgh where we will be proudly raising funds for

This will be our second year joining Wilma on the Kilt Walk. This year will be a hard year for Wilma as it will be her first without her beautiful Belle.
This year we have a number of our clients waiting for their call for a new match and successor for their previous partnership and we know how much they are missing partners.

Please consider donating every penny counts and together we can make the difference and allow more dogs to be trained to help and support a range of disabilities.
