When correct chewing and swallowing are achieved, this is the body’s own natural Myo- these functions that we do many times every day are what keeps the tongue strong, supporting the airway going forward!

As well as scaffolding the airway, and sipping the facial muscles from overworking, look at the difference your tongue posture can make to your jawline

Myofunctional Therapy and Buteyko Breathing are the perfect combination to see real results. Add in a nozzle (we recommend these for our patients) and you have a match made in heaven!

We don’t usually accompany all our patients to their tongue tie releases, but our lovely friend and colleague is different. She has been so diligent with her Myo, and using her YTM®️ tool to prepare the tissues, as well as bodywork to prepare her whole body. She could not have picked a better person to do her release. .tonguetie.specialist , you were INCREDIBLE, as always. So excited for as she continues on this journey. She is well prepped with her Myo nozzle and her YTM ®️ tool to use when ready, to support complete habituation of optimal tongue posture! Team work makes the dream work! ❤️

Ever wondered what we are looking for when we ask you to say ‘ahhhhhh’? It’s not just the tonsils- we are looking at the tone of the velar and pharyngeal muscles. These muscles are super important for a strong and functional airway, and relate directly to how well the tongue is functioning. Do you have good airway tone?

19/05/2026

Has stability is important. When the jaw moves with the tongue, and movements are not isolated, this leads to other muscles over working, and the tongue becoming less toned. Remember, a toned tongue is a tongue that stays on the roof of the mouth at rest, and supports the tone of the airway muscles. Do you have a stable or a wobbly jaw? Tell us below
