Story of my life. To be fair I’m usually focussing on the patients 😬🫶🏼

This is why you shouldn’t sleep on skin care!
gottlieb Shows really clearly here the difference focusing on skin quality can make to your appearance.

Optimising muscle dynamics and volume will undoubtedly make you look younger but we are increasingly seeing patients who want to focus on optimising skin quality.

In-clinic treatments like laser and Microneedling are fantastic at optimising superficial skin appearance, but the cumulative gain of an evidence-based at home skincare regime, tailored to your concerns is huge. Skin assessments will make up a large part of every consultation which always involves a good deal of education and often de-influencing social media regimes 😬

Painless procedures? Yes please

I have absolutely no pain threshold at all, all of my colleagues will confirm! 😬😂

I like to do as much as we can for patients to minimise discomfort and through utilising my background in anaesthetics, I frequently perform nerve blocks in the face to dramatically improve comfort.

The infraorbital nerve is blocked using a very small injection in the midface which reduces sensation in the area above for about 30-60 minutes. This allows for comfortable procedures and combination sessions involving the under eyes, midface and lips.

While definitely not required for procedures, for people who struggle with injectables (like me) it’s a total game changer.

Would you have a nerve block? Or have you had one? Let me know in the comments ⬇️

Doing Anaesthetics alongside my Aesthetics keeps me up-skilled and proficient at managing emergencies, performing nerve blocks, ultrasound, sitting down and complaining.

I love running a business ❤️✨

Complications can happen to the best practitioner but understanding anatomy, injection technique and where, appropriate, utilising ultrasound to visualise the target can dramatically reduce the risk.

The risorius muscle lies close to the masseter and hitting this muscle by accident can cause a lopsided (if unilateral) or reduced smile (both sides). This causes an undesirable cosmetic result which can be distressing to the patient.

Prevention is always better than cure, but the good news is that this effect is self-limiting and will wear off by itself (although it can take a few months).
