Have you noticed yourself walking a little differently lately? 👣

When part of your foot or lower leg feels sore, it can make walking more difficult. Or you may require an orthopaedic assessment and possibly consider insoles.

Over time, these small changes can sometimes leave your ankles, knees, hips or lower back feeling uncomfortable too.

As a Specialist Foot Health Practitioner, I’ll take the time to listen to what has been bothering you, assess your feet carefully and look at what may be causing the discomfort. 🩵

Sometimes, something as small as a corn, thick nail or area of hard skin can make walking more difficult.

Having it checked can help you understand what is going on and what may help you feel more comfortable.

If this sounds familiar, please feel free to get in touch.

➡️ Please call, text or WhatsApp me on 07711 033530 to find out more and book an appointment. You can also DM me.

Boots back on, sore feet back too? 👢

When you switch from sandals or lighter shoes to boots and other enclosed footwear, your feet may suddenly have less room.

A shoe that pinches, rubs or slips can place repeated pressure on the same area.

Over time, this may contribute to painful corns, hard skin, blisters or aching feet.

Sometimes, a change in shoe size, width or style can make your feet feel much more comfortable.

If the same sore spot keeps returning, feel free to get in touch, and I can take a closer look. 🩵

Happy World Podiatry Day! 👣💙

This year's theme is “Feet Carry Every Culture”, a lovely reminder that wherever we live and whatever our day looks like, our feet are doing a lot of the work.

They get us to work, allow us to pursue sports and hobbies, take us around the shops, through family days out and everywhere in between. Yet they're often one of the last things we think about until something starts hurting.

World Podiatry Day is a chance to put foot health back on the list and recognise the work that goes into keeping people comfortable and mobile.

👣 Look after your feet, pay attention when something changes and don't put off getting them checked if something doesn't feel right.

➡️ If your feet have been trying to tell you something, DM or text/WhatsApp me on 07711 033530 to find out more and book an appointment.

It is easy to assume a thick toenail must mean a fungal infection, but that is not always the case. 👣

I often see nails that have changed because of repeated pressure from shoes, an old injury or general wear over time.

They can look very similar, which is why it helps to get them assessed before jumping to conclusions.

Sometimes the nail has been rubbing for months without you realising. Sometimes it goes back to a stubbed toe or a knock that never quite grew out the way you expected.

The important thing is understanding what may be behind the change, so the next steps feel clearer and more manageable.

If you have noticed a thickened toenail and feel unsure about it, please feel free to get in touch. 💙

Sometimes nails can become so thick or difficult to manage that looking after them at home feels almost impossible. 👣

This patient came in with fungal nails that needed a little extra care. In just 25 minutes, I was able to reduce and tidy the nails, helping them feel more comfortable and much easier to manage.

We also put a simple treatment plan and medication in place to help treat the fungal infection over time.

Fungal nails do take patience, but having a clear plan can make the next steps feel much easier. 💙

If your nails have become difficult to manage, feel free to get in touch to see what I can do to help you.

That burning feeling in the ball of your foot can make a normal walk feel much longer and less enjoyable than it should. 👣

Some patients describe it as aching or burning, while others say it feels like a small stone is stuck inside their shoe.

This is often called metatarsalgia, which simply means pain at the front of the foot, just behind the toes.

Tight shoes, increased activity, hard skin or bunions can all play a part. The discomfort may become more noticeable after a long day on your feet, especially when the area is under repeated pressure.

Sometimes, reviewing your footwear, reducing pressure on the area and dealing with any hard skin can help.

It is worth paying attention if the discomfort keeps returning or starts affecting the walks and everyday plans you enjoy.

If this sounds familiar, please feel free to get in touch.

The wrong shoes are ruining your feet. Literally 👢

I see patients every week whose pain vanishes the moment they go up a size or switch brands or styles. Foot conditions like metatarsalgia, heel pain, bunions and corns getting worse often trace back to shoes that don't fit.

When your feet are cramped, they're working harder than they should. Your toes are squeezed, your arches are unsupported, your heel's slipping. And that stress shows up as burning, aching, throbbing that can be unbearable.

👠 A shoe that's too tight restricts blood flow and one that's too loose forces your foot to grip just to stay put. Either way, your feet are exhausted.

But it's completely fixable and even switching half a size can make the difference.

➡️ Not sure what size you actually need? Or which shoes will actually support your feet? That's what I'm here for. Book a chat and we'll sort it.

🦶 Foot care can be tricky, especially when the issues you're facing include previous misdiagnosis, recurring foot problems and pain that is stopping you from going about daily life.

Luckily for these three patients, I was happy to resolve their issues and give them peace of mind that they have a practitioner they can trust to resolve their pains and offer the right treatment.

For Nicholas "mum had a problem with her toes that other people had diagnosed incorrectly and Ola resolved the situation immediately." 💭

Then Sophia came in after a weight dropped on her big toenail. "Really glad I visited as it fixed the problem and put my mind at ease." 💭

And finally I helped Marilyn's partner, who's "foot was very painful", and "although his treatment took a number of weeks Ola never gave up on what was a very frustrating problem. Her help has been so very good and we eventually found a solution we couldn’t have done it without her help." 💭

Three people. Three very different foot care problems that were resolved. That's what I'm here for 💙
