✨If you've had an IUS or IUD fitted and need checking that it is still in the right position, you can book a coil check scan at Starlight.✨

👩A coil check is a pelvis scan so it includes an assessment of the uterus, endometrium, ovaries and urinary bladder.

A coil check scan can be booked online 24/7 📲 and you'll receive a written report the same day (as well as the relevant information at your appointment).

👦👦All men living in England are offered abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening by the NHS when they are 65. 👦👦

This is because men are more likely than women to have an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

🏥The screening isn't routinely offered to men younger than 65 or for people who have had treatment for an abdominal aortic aneurysm. 🏥

There are reasons why you could be deemed at higher risk such as if a family member has had an abdominal aortic aneurysm, if you have high blood pressure, diabetes or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or if you smoke.

If you're not eligible for AAA screening but you think you're at higher risk of getting an abdominal aortic aneurysm, talk to a GP about the possibility of getting a scan.

👩‍⚕️If you are unable to get screening via your NHS GP, you can book an aorta scan at Starlight, without the need for a referral. 👨‍⚕️

✅It is a simple, quick and non-invasive ultrasound scan.

✅You will receive a report the same day and verbal information at your appointment.

✅It can be booked as a stand-alone aorta scan, but the aorta is checked as part of a men's abdominal ultrasound scan, either of which are available to book online 24/7.

Pregnancy can be a magical time.

It can also be confusing, scary and anxious.

Having continuity of care is an important aspect of maternity care but sadly it is not always achievable.

Starlight Ultrasound is a private ultrasound clinic as well as a private midwife clinic, offering diagnostic pregnancy ultrasound scans at any gestation, and also private antenatal and postnatal care.

Starlight is run by senior registered midwife Laura Gardner who offers private midwife packages which are available for both shared care with the NHS and fully private antenatal care.

Laura only takes on a limited number of private patients at any one time to ensure availability.
