⬇️ Going downstairs
⬇️ Getting out the car
⬇️ After sitting a while
⬇️ Walking longer distances

…it could be more than “just wear and tear”.

At ICE Clinic we assess how your body moves as a whole — not just where it hurts.

For some patients, treatments like physiotherapy or AposHealth can help reduce pain and improve mobility without surgery.

Don’t ignore pain that’s changing how you move.

☀️💧 SUN’S OUT = HYDRATION ON! 💧☀️

With the hot weather we’re having, it’s more important than ever to stay hydrated — not just for your energy levels, but for your muscles too! 🙌

When your body becomes dehydrated, your muscles can feel tighter, weaker and more prone to cramps, fatigue and injury. Staying hydrated helps your muscles function properly, recover faster and keeps your joints moving well.

✅ Supports muscle performance
✅ Helps prevent cramps and spasms
✅ Improves recovery
✅ Keeps joints lubricated
✅ Helps regulate body temperature

Top tips for staying hydrated this summer:
🍉 Eat water-rich foods like fruit and salad
💦 Drink water regularly throughout the day
🏖️ Stay cool and avoid too much direct sun
🏃 Rehydrate before and after exercise

Your body — and your muscles — will thank you for it! ☀️💙

💙 Dementia Action Week starts today 💙

Dementia affects millions of people and families across the UK, and while there is no single way to prevent it, research continues to show that staying physically active can play an important role in supporting overall brain and body health as we age.

Regular movement and exercise can help:
✅ Maintain mobility and independence
✅ Improve balance and reduce the risk of falls
✅ Support strength and coordination
✅ Boost mood and confidence
✅ Encourage social interaction and routine
✅ Support overall wellbeing and quality of life

The good news is that movement doesn’t have to be intense to make a difference. Gentle walks, stretching, strength exercises and regular daily activity can all have a positive impact over time.

At Ice Physio Clinic, we’re passionate about helping people stay active, mobile and independent for as long as possible. Whether you’re managing aches and pains, recovering from injury, or looking to improve balance and confidence with movement, our team is here to support you every step of the way.

Sometimes small, consistent steps really do lead to life-changing improvements. 💙

💪✨ Understanding Tendons & Tendon Injuries ✨💪

Tendons are strong, flexible tissues that connect your muscles to your bones. Their job is to transfer force from the muscle to help your body move efficiently — whether that’s walking, lifting, running, or exercising 🏃‍♂️🏋️‍♀️

Because tendons work hard every day, they can sometimes become overloaded or irritated, leading to injury.

⚠️ Common tendon injuries include:
🔹 Tendinitis – irritation and inflammation of a tendon
🔹 Tendinopathy – ongoing tendon pain and reduced strength
🔹 Tears or strains caused by overload or sudden movements

🩹 Symptoms may include:
✔️ Pain during movement
✔️ Stiffness, especially in the morning
✔️ Weakness around the joint
✔️ Swelling or tenderness
✔️ Pain during exercise or everyday activities

Tendon injuries can happen gradually over time or suddenly after increased activity. They’re common in areas such as the Achilles tendon, shoulder, knee, elbow, and wrist.

💡 How ICE Clinic can help:
At ICE Physiotherapy, we provide expert assessment and personalised treatment plans to help you recover safely and effectively.

✔️ Accurate diagnosis of tendon injuries
✔️ Strength and loading programmes tailored to you
✔️ Hands-on treatment and rehabilitation
✔️ Advice on activity modification and injury prevention
