There are moments in your career that make you stop and think, “Wow… this is actually happening.”

This is one of them.

I’m incredibly proud to be taking the stage at an Aesthetic Medicine Conference in Croatia for my first international presentation, sharing my experience and knowledge around something I feel passionately about — skin cancer awareness and recognising when something just doesn’t look right.

For me, aesthetic medicine has never been simply about looking good.

It’s about skin health, confidence, knowledge and, above all, trust.

We see our patients up close. We get to know their skin. And sometimes, what we notice can be far more important than aesthetics.

Being invited to share that perspective internationally is a huge privilege — and a reminder of why I love what I do.

A little nervous? Absolutely.
Excited? Beyond words.
Proud? Without a doubt. 🤍

A medical aesthetics consultation should never be treated as a box-ticking exercise. Before any treatment takes place, there needs to be time to understand your medical history, assess your anatomy, discuss your concerns and make sure the treatment is both appropriate and safe for you!

Sometimes that means recommending a different approach. Sometimes it means waiting and sometimes, it means saying no to treatment altogether.

Good aesthetic medicine isn’t about simply performing the treatment someone has booked in for, it’s about making considered, individual decisions with patient safety at the centre of them.

🎂 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀…..

Another year older — and perhaps another year wiser about what wellbeing really means.

As a doctor working in both healthcare and medical aesthetics, I spend a lot of time talking about skin health, ageing and looking after ourselves.

But healthy skin isn’t just about creams, treatments or procedures.

Skin health is part of a bigger picture.

Sleep.
Nutrition.
Hormones.
Stress.
Movement.
Mental wellbeing.
Confidence.
And how we feel about ourselves.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve something that bothers you. Aesthetic medicine can be incredibly empowering when it’s approached thoughtfully and medically.

But I think the ultimate goal should always be the same:

To help you feel comfortable, confident and well in your own skin.

Today, I’m celebrating another year — not by wishing it away, but by being grateful for it.

Because ageing isn’t something we should fear.

It’s something we’re fortunate to experience. 🤍

Summer might be over, but your skin can still be feeling the effects.

Sun exposure, warmer temperatures, air conditioning, travel and changes to your usual routine can all contribute to increased water loss from the skin, leaving it feeling tight, dull or less comfortable than usual. And while the instinct might be to reach for more active ingredients, dehydrated skin often needs the opposite: hydration, barrier support and a more considered approach.

If your skin feels different after summer, it may be time to reassess what it needs now rather than continuing with the same routine.
