This year marks 10 years of Loneliness Awareness Week, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness and helping to normalise conversations about it.

Loneliness is a common feeling that many of us experience at some point in our lives. Building social connections through attending groups, taking part in activities, or volunteering can help reduce feelings of loneliness and improve wellbeing.

Throughout the week, we will be sharing a range of local evening and weekend activities and groups. We recognise that these times can feel particularly lonely for some people, and we hope to highlight opportunities to meet others, try something new, and feel more connected to the local community.

As the World Cup begins today, it's important to remember that major football events can be associated with an increase in domestic abuse incidents.

Research has shown that reports of domestic abuse can rise during major football events, regardless of whether a team wins, loses or draws.

Domestic abuse can affect anyone and may take many forms. Support is available, and no one should have to face abuse alone.

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, or are concerned about someone you know, confidential support and advice is available through the Hampshire Domestic Abuse Partnership.

We are finishing the week with a reminder of the importance of slowing down and reconnecting with nature 🍃

Spending time outdoors, noticing the world around use and taking a mindful moment for ourselves can have a positive impact on both our mental and physical wellbeing.

We hope some of this week's posts have encouraged you to pause, reflect, and try a few small actions to support your wellbeing, because even the smallest steps matter.

You can find wellbeing resources and audio recordings on our website: https://www.andoverpcn.co.uk/our-services/primary-care-mental-health-team/wellbeing-resources/mindfulness-resources/
