We are delighted to say that Dr Helen Monaghan has joined us, from 1 August, as a GP partner. She will be a familiar face to many of you already, as she has been a trainee with us and more recently was attached to us under the GP returner Scheme, following a break for family reasons. We are proud to say that this means that 3 of our GP partners were trainees with the practice - Dr Watson and Dr Baker also trained here.

Due to a well earned 'glow-up' to some of our consulting rooms, we currently have some desks (2 corner and 1 straight) and 2 fixed examination beds going free. Buyer must collect from the surgery. 📣Important information for female patients who have an implanon/nexplanon implant for contraception.📣

The guidance for contraceptive implants has now changed meaning that they are safe and effective for 5 years instead of 3. Please follow the link below for further information from Sexual Health DG. Dr Donachie and Dr Campbell continue to fit and change these in the practice, please get in touch to make a telephone appointment if you have any questions.

Nexplanon is a small flexible rod that is placed just under your skin in your upper arm. It releases a hormone called progestogen and protects you from pregnancy for 5 years.
