💚 A heartfelt thank you to Appledore WI 💚

Thank you so much for inviting me along today. It was a real pleasure to spend time with you all and talk about Plastic in the Bathroom and how some simple changes, such as swapping plastic-heavy products for natural, non-plastic alternatives, can make a difference to the environment while also being kinder to our skin. 🌿🧼

But today meant much more to me than talking about soap.

I want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who made a donation towards my daughter Charlotte’s cancer treatment. ❤️

Charlotte is just 30 years old. She has a rare and aggressive cancer, and devastatingly, the NHS has now run out of treatment options for her.

We aren’t ready to give up.

We are raising funds to access treatment privately — treatment that, we hope, can extend Charlotte’s life and give her more precious time with her family and the people who love her.

Every donation is helping us fight for something incredibly precious: time.

More birthdays. More family days. More laughter. More memories. More time for Charlotte to be a mum, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

I honestly cannot put into words what it means when people who barely know us choose to give something to help Charlotte. It gives us hope at a time when we desperately need it.

So to everyone at Appledore WI who donated today, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

💛 A personal message from Andrew, co-owner of North Devon Soap. 💛

Many of you know me through North Devon Soap but today I’m writing as a father.

Last June, our daughter Charlotte was diagnosed with the rare salivary gland cancer Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. Like any family facing a diagnosis like this, our lives changed overnight. Throughout everything, Charlotte has shown incredible strength, courage and determination. She continues to inspire us every single day.

The support we’ve received from our customers, friends and the wider community has been overwhelming and I honestly can’t thank you enough.

I’m asking for your help once again.

On Saturday 5th September, the fantastic Soul Connection will be performing a special fundraising concert at the Parabola Arts Centre in Cheltenham to help raise funds towards Charlotte’s treatment.

We are delighted to announce that North Devon Handmade Collective has been appointed as the new licence operator for the historic Great Torrington Pannier Market, helping to shape an exciting future for this much-loved community landmark.

🏛️ Established in 1842, the Pannier Market has been at the heart of Great Torrington for nearly 184 years, supporting local traders, bringing people together and welcoming visitors from across the region.

✨ What's next?

✅ Friday and Saturday markets will continue as normal
✅ The popular Wednesday Community Lunch remains
✅ A brand-new programme of specialist Sunday markets is coming
✅ More opportunities for local makers, artists, traders and community groups
