On 3rd July 2022 I am taking part in my toughest physical challenge to date when I seek to complete Ironman UK 2022. This will consist of a 2.4 mile lake swim, 112 mile cycle and finishing with a 26.2 marathon run.

I have again chosen to raise funds and awareness for three hugely important local charities, representing the three disciplines, and seek your help in doing so.

Held In Our Hearts are a local charity providing baby loss counselling and support to families. Formerly known as SANDS Lothians, they have 40 years’ experience of offering compassionate bereavement care in the community.

Neil's Hugs Foundation was founded by Donna Paterson-Harvie who lost her only son, Neil to su***de in September 2011. The aim of the charity is to help raise awareness of su***de in the local community and support families who have been affected by su***de.

River Kids Children's Charity is a West Lothian based children’s charity, founded in 2005, with the sole purpose of supporting disadvantged children, and their familes. River Kids believe that no child should go without. River Kids also runs the West Lothian Toy Appeal.

I have raised approximately £10,000 for charity these past 6 years and seek your help to hit my target this year.

I’m posting this as a first step in raising awareness and, although, it’s many weeks until the event, it would be great to get the fundraising underway.

I’ll post regularly and will continue to post updates regarding my training on my page Paul Brown Fundraising.

Please give what you can as your donation will make a huge difference to these wonderful charities.

🔥🔥 Beginner Running Group 🔥🔥

Many of you will know that I ran a beginner running group a few years ago.

The group was a great success and seen many aspiring runners take up the sport and be in a position to run/jog 5k. Many continued to run after graduating from the group and the distances continue to increase.

The purpose of the group is to encourage complete beginners to go from 0 to 5k in a 10-12 session block. This is done in a safe and friendly environment with the help of a UK Athletics coach (me).

My enthusiasm for running and seeing other’s progress remains as strong as ever. I am in the process of renewing my UK Athletics membership and it got me thinking 🤔.

I am therefore looking to gauge if there would be any interest in joining me?

Today I completed a July accumulator running challenge, running the number of miles each day that corresponds with the date, so finished with 31 miles today!

Today I began from Edinburgh Castle and have ran a total of 500 miles this month.

I have raised awareness and funds for the charities Held in our Hearts and Neils Hugs Foundation.

Thank you to everyone for all the support and donations ❤️

During the month of July I am completing an exhausting accumulator running challenge to raise funds for the charities Held In Our Hearts and Neil’s Hugs Foundation. Each day I will run the mileage that corresponds with the date, i.e. a mile on the first, 2 miles on the 2nd and so on, completing a monthly total of 496 miles!

I’ll be running for 31 consecutive days and completing 196 miles in the last 7 days! That’s more than 7 marathons in 7 days 🥵 It could be my toughest challenge yet!

I would welcome anyone that wishes to join me for a socially distant run along the way.

Thank you ❤️
